The ‘Battery Adapter for Makita 18V LXT Lithium Battery to Work with for Makita G-Series Power Tools’ arrived in a plain box.The adaptor appears to be well made and when attached to an aftermarket LTX style battery it remained secure; I used an aftermarket battery as I felt it was the most likely chance of a mismatch of tolerances.I checked the retaining catch to ensure it fully retracted which it did.This adaptor seems to be a simple way of reducing the number of different battery types in use as older batteries expires.

Worth getting if you have existing G series …….
I have a number of G series 18v tools that still function very well. The batteries that came with it are getting to the point of not providing any longevity in the usage department.New G series batteries from Makita are quite expensive as are the ‘clone’ types. The issue with this route is that one day the tools can fail and I would be left with a bunch of G series batteries and no working tools.This adapter comes into it’s element when I can get the newer Makita LXT batteries and use them on my G series. Meaning that if my G series tools fail then I can just replace with the Makita LXT equivalent.The adapter fits on the LXT battery easily and then this package fits on to the G series tool. It does make it look bulky but does not add any significant weight. However, the balance of the tool will change as the battery would be an inch or two lower.For the money I feel this adapter is good value and makes battery purchase future proof.
