Solid adaptor
This adaptor is good for phones or camera. The mount is a clip-on type which is big enough for pro max phones. The quality of make is really good. Everything is solid and rigid. The lock is secure and firm, so even if you camera is heavy it will not slip. There are plenty of holes for you to screw onto your tripod at different directions. It uses a standard thread size so it should fit most tripod. A great adaptor for upgrading an older tripod or adding phone mounting capability.

Better suite to a mobile phone than full sized camera
This compact and lightweight tripod ball head has a top plate that can either be used with a full-sized camera via the standard 1/4â screw or flipped over and opened up to hold a mobile phone, and it proved more than capable of taking my iPhone 14 Pro Mac, holding it securely with enough flexibility to remove smoothly without snapping shut abruptly and potentially causing damage, as I have experienced with some others.The ball head is very flexible, yet locks into place firmly. The maximum load of 2 kilos is enough for most, but worth checking if you believe you are near the limit with a heavy camera and lens, so not for all situations by any means.The plastic build is rather evident, but not in a way that feels especially fragile, and I would expect it to hold up with regular use. It feels solid on the tripod and I can foresee many replacing heads that came with tripods to use this one instead. â¨â¨One missing feature I would have liked to see is a tightening ring as part of the head, allowing the 1/4â screw to be tightened or loosened without having to rotate the camera or fix the head to the camera before then screwing on to the tripod. From that perspective, it is a bit awkward and more at home with phone photographers.

The ball mount part is very well built and I feel like I can trust it with heavier items. The mounting point at the top can be unscrewed and flipped around to be used as a phone clip, however the phone clip mechanism is flimsy and feels like it’s going to break easily.

Every few years someone redesigns the ball head. I was interested in this design because of the 1/4″-20 female mount on the front, you can easily add a grub screw and mount a arm for holding a led ring light or something else. The ball mount holds position well and is pretty strong.It does not have an indexed knob but that is not an issue with such a high mounting point.The cell phone holder does open it’s jaws wide enough to accept my cell phone which is an Samsung X-cover in an OTTER case. However it is not very secure because the V-grips are too short for the thickness of the OTTER case.If you do not have a case for your phone or have a silicone or super thin case then you should be fine.The cell holder grip can be turned and mounted for landscape and portrait and flipped over for a flat camera mount.All in all i do like the ball head design and it holds well, just going to use it more for cameras and lights then my phone as its a pain to take out of the case. Â
