What is the paper like?

Lovely paper
Lovely quality paper to draw on, doesnât thin when rubbing out either perfect size to carry around. Â I wanted something nice for me that I could work on my skills with and itâs perfect for what I wanted. Have used watercolours, graphite pencils and fine liners and all work well with the paper I would suitable for all.Â

Nice versatile sketchbook
Comes as described, cover clearly of good quality and paper is also nice though slightly on the thinner side compared to other sketchbooks Iâve had. Lots of pages, takes all sorts of media- goache (which I was pleasantly surprised at), watercolour doesnât go too crinkly (though some crinkle is inevitable), paper isnât see-through with inks and takes pencil fine as well! Overall good value for money.

‘Giftable’ is a bit of a random option when reviewing! Something to do with its properties as a sketch book would make more sense. Anyway.This is the first Leda sketchbook I have used. I do have an issue with the branding (the Leda and the swan tale is described as a ‘romance’ which it definitely was not) but that hasn’t influenced my review or rating.I have mixed feelings about this sketchbook.On a positive note, the sketchbook looks and feels good – it is a decent weight without being heavy or bulky, the flexible cover has an almost velvety feel to it, and I like the off-white paper. I have used it several times and it has been carried about in bags etc, and is wearing well so far.It is at its best when used for pencil sketching. The paper is smooth, the book lays flat when open so you can easily sketch across both pages, always useful if you are a landscape artist. It can handle some pen and ink, but nothing heavy as it starts to ghost on the other side. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoy using pencil on this paper, plus it erases well (ideally with a normal rubber rather than an electric one).Downsides are that the description is a little confusing. It states that the paper is best suited to pencil, coloured pencil and pastels because water and paint will make it buckle – but next to that is a photo of a watercolour bird that looks perfectly smooth. In my ever so ‘umble opinion it isn’t suitable for glues, paints or water, or heavier ink pens or markers.This makes it a bit expensive for a sketchbook with quite a limited range (£12.25).So, one star off for the above issues, which aren’t anything dire, and 5 stars because it looks and feels good, and is very effective with pencils.Hope that helps!

I have used a lot of sketchbooks for work over the years, and some were better than others. Moleskine is often the sketchbook of choice, if you donât mind the price.This sketchbook is comparable to Moleskine and is very well made. At this price, itâs a simple and easy decision to make. It feels nice to hold, is durable, has good paper weight, and is well bound with a durable elastic and a good quantity of pages.I plan on buying more as my go-to sketchbook.

Satisfying texture of paper, nice that there is a pocket in the back. Seems to be well bound, but does not lay flat. I don’t need a lay-flat notebook for my needs but might bother some artists.

Vale lo que cuesta, es el segundo que compro para regalar a un dibujante. Sirve para todos materiales, (sobre todo rotus de alcohol) tiene grosor.Las tapas son flexibles, es magnÃfico y muy cómodo

Ich kaufe dieses Skizzenbuch seit einigen Jahren immer mal wieder und bin sehr zufrieden!Ich habe schon viel getestet und bis auf die Skizzenbücher von TALENS Art Creation noch keine Besseren für mich gefunden.Das Papier ist angenehm glatt und hält einiges aus.Es ist nicht zu dick, nicht zu dünn, und auch Mixed Media (in meinem Fall Buntstifte, Aquarell (begrenzt), Acrylfarben und Ink) sind gut darin zu verwenden.Feder ist nach meiner Erfahrung etwas schwierig, da es die Oberfläche des Papiers ankratzt und so die Linien ausfedern, aber u. B. Kugelschreiber, Brushpens oder Gelstifte funktionieren sehr gut für Lineart und Co.Das Soft cover mag ich persönlich gerne, wenn ich an meinem Schreibtisch arbeite. Ich habe die Erfahrung gemacht, dass das Zeichnen im Zug oder unterwegs damit etwas problematisch ist, da es doch sehr elastisch ist, aber das ist Absichtssache.An sich gehört es zu den teureren Skizzenbüchern, aber ich gönne es mir ab und zu mal ganz gerne, einfach weil es Spaà macht darin zu explodieren.Kann es empfehlen und ist bestimmt kein schlechter Kauf!

Un prodotto veramente valido e di alta qualità . Già dalla fattura della copertina, molto resistente e allo stesso tempo piacevole al tatto, si capisce molto di questo sketchbook. Le pagine, molto lisce, sono dello stesso avviso. Vi si può colorare tranquillamente con pennarelli alcolici ma stando attenti alle pagine retrostanti perché i fogli non sono specifici per questo utilizzo e il colore tende a passare dietro. Unica pecca (per la quale non mi sento nemmeno di dare una stella in meno data la qualità complessiva del prodotto) è che usando gli acquerelli la carta va a piegarsi creando le tipiche onde da “foglio bagnato” non ottimale, ma sono fogli per utilizzo misto e non specifici per questo quindi è giustificabile. Per il resto posso dire di starlo usando da diversi mesi e apparte queste piccolezze non mi ha dato nessun tipo di problema, la rilegatura è ancora perfetta e non si è minimamente rovinato non ostante lo porti ogni giorno nello zaino scolastico assieme ad altro materiale.
