I bought this printer because it’s cheap (though double the price it used to be) and I still had plenty of compatible ink when my previous 3600 became useless (paper feed continually complained there was no paper even though there was – a common problem so I read – and it could not print a boarding pass straight enough to scan at the airport, despite hours spent on realignment etc). This is the 3rd printer in this series I’ve owned (if you’re wondering why, I knew at least that I only had to plug it in without any installation: that was my sole reason for repurchasing). The printer is not aligned on arrival and the automatic alignment will not help you at all. You need to set it to manual alignment and run through that process and then it may work. My third one does not work. I think I may have to send it back as I’m about at my wits end. I was going to scan in the awfully wobbly test page it printed and add that image to my review – but the scan facility isn’t working either. It does a lot for the money (if working) although it whirrs and grumbles a lot so it’s best to send your print job and leave it alone for 5 minutes before trying to assess if there’s an issue. Great printer if you’re a masochist or you want an excuse to miss a plane.

What I wanted it to be
My old printer broke down. I really loved it and wanted, if possible, to get as near as possible, the same printer again. Too early to asses but, would say this printer is a later model to the one I had. Easy to install.Prints, scan and copies. I love it.
I only gave it 4 stars for value for money, as it could be found elsewhere for considerably less. All out of stock. I love it anyway.

Basic cheap ‘n cheerful home printer.
This is a basic cheap and cheerful home printer/scanner I bought to replace my Cannon MG 2220 (It’s not spilled drink proof – The Grandkids blame the cat). The two are actually very similar, the old power and USB cables fitting well into the new printer, which is just as well since no USB cable is provided with the 3650. The main new feature is that this version has a wireless link to your laptop or smart ‘phone (Please don’t ask which ‘phones). Set- up was easy, either on-line or by the DVD provided, and worked on both my Windows 10 laptop and Windows 7 PC. The main weakness is the limited capacity ink cartridges – OK for Home admin/letters or printing photos of said Grandkids, but not up to printing 500 flyers etc. For office printing look elsewhere. But what do you expect for under £100.

Good but long to install

Pros – Nice printer, good price quality ratio
Cons – Difficult to install, we had to try the installation a couple of times before the printer got connected to Wifi. The ultimate option was to connect via USB and the printer is not supplied with one compatible with the printer. However, after a couple of tries, we could connect it using the router WPS button.
