Good all rounder
I picked up the ACEMAGIC AX18 last week and it has spent most of its time on the kitchen table and being used by all the family. With an 18.5-inch screen it feels closer to a portable television from the nineties than to what most people picture when they hear the word laptop. The Full-HD IPS panel runs at 60 Hz and the colours look honest enough for a bit of light photo tinkering in Lightroom, although they are miles away from a professional monitor.Inside you will find Intel’s modest N150 processor that tops out at 3.6 GHz. Coupled with 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a 512 GB NVMe drive, it hoists Windows 11 out of bed in about the time it takes my youngest to finish a bowl of cornflakes, so no complaints there.Ports are generous for such a modestly priced machine. Three USB 3.2 sockets sit on the left, an HDMI and a Type-C live on the right, and Wi-Fi 5 with Bluetooth 5.0 handles the rest of the connectivity. I was printing wirelessly and streaming BBC iPlayer at the same time without a hiccup.For day-to-day work, browsing, Netflix, and even the odd session of Minecraft with the kids, the AX18 behaves briskly. Fire up anything more demanding, though, and the little N-series chip soon shows its limits, as you would expect. The 8000 mAh battery keeps the show on the road for five to six hours, which is decent, just not the sunrise-to-sunset stamina the marketing blurb hints at.Sound comes from two downward-firing speakers that are more polite than punchy, so I stick to headphones for music. The 1 MP webcam is a little, soft and grainy, and it will not flatter anybody on Zoom. Build quality is very much plastic but good quality. There is flex if you twist the lid, yet, to be fair, the keyboard offers reasonable travel and I had no bother rattling out a 2,000-word report.At roughly £460 you are paying for an enormous screen, quick storage, and a healthy slab of RAM. The trade-off is modest horsepower and a chassis that feels a little budget, although well built. If you value acres of display over raw pace, the AX18 is worth a look, and is proving to be a decent workhorse for all the family and the various demand put on it.

The screen of this laptop is much bigger than that of my previous laptop, and the visual effect is excellent. Its high-definition display screen brings a clear visual experience. Moreover, its configuration and performance are also very outstanding, making it very suitable for daily office work and entertainment.In terms of connectivity, it supports WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0, facilitating quick connection with other devices. Three USB 3.2 ports make it more convenient to connect peripheral devices, while dual speakers provide a better audio experience. The 8000mAh long-lasting battery makes this notebook perform exceptionally well in terms of battery life, making it suitable for long-term use. So far, no problems have occurred after using it for a period of time, and the experience is very good.

Looks okay, nice screen. I had to send it back because the sound quality was awful. I have ordered another one tomorrow, hopefully this one will be okay.Update: the second one is not any different sound-wise, so I have ordered speakers for it. If you want to play music, you will need speakers. I’m keeping it because I like the screen size. I’m surprised no one mentioned the speakers in their reviews.

Excellent ordinateur pour le prix — idéal pour les étudiants et le télétravailJ’ai acheté ce produit ,principalement pour mes études et quelques tâches bureautiques à la maison, et honnêtement, je suis agréablement surpris par ses performances. Dès l’ouverture du colis, j’ai trouvé l’ordinateur bien emballé et le design très propre. Malgré sa grande taille (18,5 pouces), il reste relativement léger et facile à transporter d’une pièce à l’autre.Le démarrage est rapide grâce au SSD de 512 Go, et les 16 Go de RAM font une vraie différence pour le multitâche. Je peux facilement ouvrir plusieurs onglets sur Chrome, travailler sur Word, écouter de la musique et utiliser d’autres applications en même temps sans aucun ralentissement. L’écran est lumineux, avec une résolution Full HD très correcte pour cette gamme de prix. Le confort visuel est très appréciable, surtout pour les longues sessions de lecture ou d’écriture.Côté connectivité, je suis ravi de retrouver un port USB-C, un port HDMI et plusieurs ports USB 3.2. Cela permet de brancher facilement un écran externe, une souris ou un disque dur sans avoir besoin d’adaptateur. La connexion Wi-Fi est stable, et le Bluetooth fonctionne sans souci avec mes écouteurs sans fil.L’autonomie de la batterie est aussi très correcte. Je tiens entre 6 et 8 heures en utilisation normale (bureautique, navigation web, YouTube), ce qui est largement suffisant pour une journée de cours ou de travail. L’ordinateur reste aussi très silencieux, même après plusieurs heures d’utilisation.En résumé, je recommande vivement cet ordinateur à tous ceux qui cherchent un bon portable pour les études, le télétravail ou une utilisation quotidienne. Très bon rapport qualité/prix !
