MUTIFUNCTIONAL RJ45 TESTER: Automatically run all tests and checks for continuity, open, shorted, and crossed wire pairs. It supports RJ45 CAT8/CAT7/CAT6A/CAT6/CAT5E/CAT5 Cable.
LONG TEST DISTANCE: The ethernet tester is convenient to use and carry for its mini size and it comes apart (master unit and remote unit). Allows one person to test installed cabling or patch cords when the cable’s ends are in different places. Supports test network cables up to 200m/656ft long.
HIGHLIGHTED LEDS: The main and remote units each have a series of 9 LEDs that display the status of each line on the connecting cable. The “G” light turns on when the network cable is grounded. The highlight display supports quick viewing of lighting conditions in dimly lit environments.
LONG SERVICE LIFE: The contacts are made of phosphor bronze, which has better conductivity and can improve the test speed and save time. The outer shell is made of ABS plastic, which is durable and can protect the internal precision structure from damage and prolong the service life of the rj45 cable tester.

Would be nice the have battery direction marked, as was going to replace as faulty until I twigged I my have battery in wrong way round!Seems to work on the one cable tested so far.

The product arrived quickly and proved that the cable tester I was using is faulty. I had (re) made a long cable 4 times because the testing reported it as faulty, this tester confirmed the Ethernet cable is fine. The tester is compact and appears well made – takes a small MN 21 battery and contains email address and contact details for company contacts in Uk . Always a bonus . The price is reasonable and lets hope it lasts as long as the old faulty tester(12 years).

giving false results after few months
started with good results, after 2 months, the smaller part does not blinks on some numbers, while the main one does. that provide false information. Tested on multiple cables (already terminated by different companies)

This takes a 23A 12V battery that you won’t have in the drawer at home or will you be able to buy one locally. Poor design.

Battery sold separately; harder to find in store so buy it online with the device (12V 23A small form factor).Definitely not a professional grade but you get a good tester for the money you pay.Simple to follow instructions and easy enough to work with.
