Almost perfect
The M.2 slot does not work for me (across multiple machines, on both USB-C and Thunderbolt capable ports) unfortunately. However, everything else works flawlessly. Switching the dock over from a Macbook to a PC is seamless as well. Power passthrough also isn’t required in that case. The ethernet port works flawlessly, the passthrough USB-C ports work great. It’s really (almost) perfect and due to the design I’m pretty confident that I’ll be able to use it for many other laptops and macbooks in the future and won’t have to replace it.

Transformed my base macbook air into a competent workstation
I’ve gone from balancing the macbook, dongles and various wires on my lap to a nice compact desk setup. I haven’t noticed any speed issues from cards or usbs. the macbook also seems to run cooler due to better airflow.

So pleased with this dock that I bought for my M3 MacBook Air. I have it hooked up to my Samsung M7 monitor that was previously connected direct via USB C but now I also have a 15″ Lenovo USB C monitor connected as well as my external webcam and external USB C hard drive. I also installed an M2 SSD so have oodles of additional disk space too.
When I get time I will look at direct ethernet connection ( to do this I will have to add a switch in my office as I only have a single ethernet connection to the rack in the garage and that is driving a Ubiquiti AP ).
All in all for the price I am very pleased

multiple features dont appear to work
Macbook air m4 15″ gets no power from the dock.
Also unable to get display port to usb c / thunderbolt 4 working in either of the 10gbps ports.
Not sure if this is supposed to work as its really unclear from the compatibility graphic. USB hub is working for mouse and keyboard and hdmi is working but only with laptop open as no power.

HDMI stopped working !!
It’s worked well since i bought it in January, but the HDMI Port suddenly stopped working.
Its disappointing,but not a deal breaker as i can plug in to the HDMI port on the Macbook.
Transfer speeds seem very good and I particularly like the built in M2 drive

I got this thing because I wanted my laptop to take up less space on my desk while I use it closed with two displays. I was aware that this only worked with one of the displays with the single USB connector, and for that, it does exactly what it needs to. Has a nice slim design that intuitively and comfortably cradles my 14 inch MBP, and matches the colour/material very well.
I definitely prefer this design to using a stand + dongle, it’s a lot neater. If it worked with two displays, I would never need to buy another one again.

Beautifully Made, Performs Well, Absurd Design Oversight (SSD Thermal Pad)
I’d love to give this full marks.
It is beautifully made and gorgeous to look at. The materials are impeccable and fit and finish are perfect.
It also performs exactly as claimed. I had no issues with transfer speeds or compatibility. Wonderfully this dock doesn’t need an active cooling fan, unlike another I’ve tested recent.
The supplied cable is also of excellent quality.
The (literally) flexible design is unique and innovative, allowing for different thicknesses of laptop to be docked with ease.
However, the problem lies with the integrated SSD bay and the supplied thermal pad. The idea is that the pad is applied over the SSD (as shown in the instructions), then when the aluminium door is reinserted, heat from the SSD is conducted through the thermal pad into the door and rest of the case. It’s the only reason such a thermal pad would be supplied.
The problem is the thermal pad is nowhere near thick enough for this to work; the gap between the SSD and the door is a few millimetres more than the pad is thick, leaving an air gap. Obviously this won’t work. Providing a much thicker pad would also not be ideal, as the thicker they get, the less effective they are. The solution would be to make the aluminium door thicker, or reposition the PCB or SSD socket to be closer to the case exterior.
Whether this will cause an issue depends on your SSD and usage. Some SSDs (particularly when stressed) will overheat with no active airflow and/or heatsink present. Applying a thermal pad like this with nothing coupled to it is likely to reduce cooling performance, not increase it.
This is frustrating as I absolutely love this dock otherwise.

Hereâs my short review after using the Pulwtop hub for a few days.
The vertical stand works great for enabling some airflow for your laptop while also giving it a couple of new ports, HDMI and ethernet.
I am using a Macbook Air M3 (2024). I have not tried the HDMI-port.
The bottom of the stand has a cutout for airflow so that you can put a Macbook with the Apple logo the right side up.
The stand does not support DP Alt Mode so itâs not possible to use one of the USB-C ports for a display.
The host port supports 10 Gbit so even though the two USB-A ports support 5 Gbit each and the two USB-C ports support 10 Gbit each, they all of course share the same 10 Gbit connection to the computer.
I would not recommend to install an nvme drive because with one installed, the hub gets very hot. The drive bay gets very hot even when the drive is not in use, so the SSD will be constantly very hot. A thermal pad is included, but it does not make contact with anything so it is pointless.
If you really need to use an SSD, please make sure that you also purchase a heatsink for your SSD. This hub will NOT cool your SSD! It seems to be plenty of room in the drive bay for a large heatsink.
Without an SSD, the back of the hub (where all the ports are) gets warm but not hot.
Itâs extremely easy to place and remove the laptop from the stand since when you put it in the stand, the stand will automatically âclamp onâ to your laptop to hold it in place. As soon as you lift the laptop, the stand will loosen its grip and you can pull the laptop straight up instantly.
The bottom of the stand is some kind of rubber or silicone material, so it will not scratch your laptop. The top of the stand has pads on it, so when it âclamps onâ it wonât scratch your laptop.
The very bottom of the stand (the âfeetâ) is aluminium but the bottom is rounded, so it wonât scratch the surface it is on as easily. However, since there are no rubber feet or similar, you might want to be careful if you have a desk with an easy-to-scratch surface.
