Just the job – takes away the doubt and guesswork.
It did the job, saved us hours of frustration and guesswork with a 50 metre ethernet cable.Very easy to use; just plug both ends of the cable in to the tester and turn it on. 8 green lights means your cable is fine and wired correctly. Will also test for ground connection on foil twisted-pair cables if present. Takes 1 PP3 battery (not supplied)Recommended.

Great little tester!
Great product, easy to use and looks like it will last, unlike others which had a melt down as soon as the battery went in. Used on 20 cables plus and has worked a charm, even picking up two different errors on one cable!

Good basic cable testing tool
First time I used it to set up cables for 14 IP cameras and they were all working fine. It’s very simple , basic tool to use, just plug the cable in one on each end then turn the switch to on or s (slow). if all the connections are correct, all the ports (1-8) will have green light on, if the connection wrong then the light will be missing.I bought a cctv tester that came with cable tester facility to help me find out which end of the cable that was faulty, and re-connect it accordingly, save a lot of times.

Great wee item
Great wee item. Used extensively while setting up my home network and crafting my own patch cables. Saved me many headaches as I tested each cable I created & immediately saw any faults.The Tester has 3 settings – OFF, ON and SLOW. The ‘master’ controller will send pulses down the 8 cables in your RJ connector, and the ‘remote’ will relay the pulses it receives with numbered LEDs. You can dock both the master and remote controller together to compare LEDs making sure they are in sync between the master & remote. If they’re not in sync, you might be in for a bad time.Uses a 9v battery.

Just what I needed
I was having intermittent issues with the wired part of my home LAN and blamed faulty cabling. When I checked the cables using this tester I found that in one case a cable was indeed faulty but in the other it was a router problem. Without this tester I had no means of testing cables and appeared to be replacing faulty cable with faulty cable. Construction seems OK and it’s cute watching the tester run through the conductors and the LEDs coming on at both ends.

Good ethernet tester
I used this tester for checking my ethernet cable terminations (see 2 other reviews).It worked very efficiently and has been described adequately by others here.I would add that the battery runs down very quickly if you don’t switch it off after use, but more importantly I found that with a low battery all the LEDs do flash in sequence very quickly and dimly (ie not solidly as when fully charged) and do NOT give a correct state for each connection being checked. If you have not used the tester for a while, first test the battery state.

Easy to use and effective
It is a robust and well-made product which gives quick results. The master unit LEDs are dimmer than those on the remote and not easy to see in normal office illumination. It would be interesting to know the actual speeds at which the normal and slow speed tests are performed.

Good unit as usual from CSL
I was having problems with the internet and this little box showed that I was usinga faulty cable. Word of advice, make sure that you are using a good battery or it will only display on one module.
