GREAT PRINTER
I have decided to write review as i have seen a lot of negative reviews mostly regarding the set up, noise etc. First of all the set up is easy with very simple instructions. You fill the ink tanks , its clean and easy – tip : push the ink bottle hard enough till loud popping noise. installing printer heads- again its easy enough just make sure the blue case where you are inserting them is exactly in the middle , as it does move, that way the printer heads click in easily. Regarding the noise : in my opinion this printer is not noisy, its average printing noise you would expect. The 3 year supply of ink – the ink bottles which come with the printer meant to last for 3 years printing , dont expect extra bottles. Connecting to wifi is easy through app. Little tip : if it goes wrong and you need to start again : on the printer , press the wifi button and clear button together for 5 seconds it resets the printer to setting up mode again . I would say this is a very good printer for domestic use and small office/ small business . It does great good job for the price paid .

Very impressed
I decided to purchase a printer with the ink bottle facility instead of cartridges so the ink would last longer. So fingers crossed with that. Set up was straight forward once you install the HP apps on your mobile device. Following the prompts on your phone was good, the only issue I had was the toner cartridges were a tad fiddly. Filling the ink from the bottles was easy. Once ready the test page printed off perfectly, then did some printing I required again no problem. When putting your wifi code in this is done via your mobile. I don’t have a Windows PC, I have a chromebook & the chromebook found the printer straightaway & again printed perfectly.
Got to admit with first impressions of the printer I am really happy, so I hope the ink levels are as good HP states.

Appalling Product, poor service. DO NOT BUY THIS!
I’ve used HP printers all my life and my last one (an HP Envy) worked perfectly for about 7 years. When it came time to replace for a newer model I selected this as I liked the economy of the smart tank ink. Adding the ink is clean and simple but that is where any positive comments end. This printer is useless – it continually drops off the network and just refuses to respond to anything sent to it (the web interface also does not respond) until powered down/up again. Printing is sketchy – sometimes it would just print the top of the first page and then stop – other times it just spuriously zips a piece of paper through it with some blobs of ink on it – other times it would weirdly go crazily slow – so each page was taking about 2-3 minutes to print. It’s like the software goes haywire on it!
Every print job is preceded by a cacophony of motor noises and wheels which sometimes bursts into print action, other times just stops and the power light starts flashing and no more. When it initially was installed, it would make an annoying low frequency beeping noise for no reason – driving me mad. A firmware update did stop this but sadly didn’t make the printer any more reliable.
Once it gets stuck with the power light flashing, nothing works and it’s hard reboot time again! It rarely prints from Apple devices, and from Windows it is a bit better but sometimes even locks up my PC! Native Apple AirPrint is terrible – the HP Smart App is more reliable but the content is repurposed by the app, losing content, changing around sizes of images and pagination, so you lose wysiwyg (what you see is what you get) – a feature of any decent printer since about 1995!
I’d already raised these issues with HP Support who arranged a swap-over for a whole new printer – but the new one is just as bad. I’ve spent all day today trying to speak to HP Support (I just want a refund now) but 8 hours later they’ve just told me they have a ‘system upgrade’ going on so cannot help me today! Just awful – avoid!
Update: other people have also mentioned this but the HP Support is disgustingly bad. You send a message and sometimes it is hours before you get a reply – but if they ask anything and you don’t respond, they close the case! Also, if it is approaching end of their shift, they just say you will need to start a new conversation the next day! In the end I got so annoyed, I just contacted Amazon and said I needed to return the printer as not fit for purpose. Amazon to the rescue again… and NEVER will I buy HP again.

Great print quality but wireless set up was slow and frustrating. Once wifi connected, all devices can access it with no problems.

I’m a bit of a technophobe, in my 50’s and have never set up a printer before. IT REALLY WAS EASY! You’re walked through in baby steps with simple graphics and simple-sentence instructions.
I’d recommend setting it up using your computer/laptop first. Then download the app on your phone and there’s nothing extra to do other than press “Print”.

I have not been reimbursed as promised a month ago. I was told do what I liked with it.
This printer failed on the 1st day. After over a month of waiting for spares from HP, I was getting frustrated. The spares eventually arrived and it still did not work. I was told that you would refund me in full and I could do what I liked with the printer. I spoke to HP to see if it could be repaired and they said send it back to Amazon and we will honour rhe Amazon exchange. I sent it via EVRI to Amazon Returns, Dunfermline, Fife a couple of weeks ago. What is happening, please?

I have some significant buyers remorse after getting this printer. It is extremely basic!! Since HP can’t make the money on the cartridges anymore, it charges a significant price for a very simple machine. Biggest issue is that it doesn’t have a decent read-out window, so you can’t easily give your machine instructions or see what is going on. Issues with your WiFi connection? Yup, better check out YouTube to solve it. The shakiness of the WiFi connection is a major issue for me, especially if your WiFi is bad (I mean Odido for Dutch customers). Also, the unit has no decent paper feeder, no dual page printing and no multi-page scanning. If you want these features that come on a EUR 50 HP machine with the cartridges, you pay several hundred Euros more for the upgraded Smart Tank models.

Ho preso la HP Smart Tank 5105 un poâ per curiosità , un poâ perché ero stufo di cambiare cartucce ogni due settimane⦠e devo dire che è stata una scelta azzeccatissima!
La qualità di stampa è ottima, sia in bianco e nero che a colori. I testi sono nitidi, le immagini belle vive, e non sbava nemmeno un poâ. Anche la stampa delle grafiche su carta fotografica e altri supporti viene molto bene. La funzione fronte/retro manuale è utile, e il sistema di ricarica dellâinchiostro è semplicissimo e pulito: niente più mani piene di colore!
Ma la vera bomba è lâautonomia: con i serbatoi ad alta capacità , posso stampare centinaia (se non migliaia) di pagine senza pensieri. In più, lâapp HP Smart è super intuitiva, con funzioni di stampa da remoto, scansione, gestione dei livelli di inchiostro⦠praticamente puoi controllare tutto dal telefono, ovunque ti trovi.
Silenziosa, veloce, compatta e con un design moderno che non sfigura sulla scrivania. Ã perfetta sia per casa che per chi lavora da remoto o ha un piccolo ufficio.
In sintesi: se cerchi una stampante economica da mantenere, di alta qualità e facile da usare, la HP Smart Tank 5105 è una scelta più che intelligente. Promossa a pieni voti!

Ein Top-Drucker für zu Hause! Die Einrichtung war ein Kinderspiel über die HP Smart App. Mir war es wichtig, dass ein USB-Anschluss vorhanden ist, obwohl der Drucker auch super über Wlan funktioniert! Schönes, kompaktes Design! Dieser Drucker ist nicht schwer, ca. 5 Kg. Die Tanktechnologie finde ich extrem spannend, da sie sparsam im Verbrauch und kosteneffizient sein soll. Genial sind die Tintentankflaschen zum Befüllen des Tanks. Eine unkomplizierte, saubere Anglegenheit. Bisher bin ich sehr zufrieden mit meinem Drucker, gestochen scharfe Ausdrucke und satte Farben. Eine passende Abdeckung (Haube), die meinen Drucker vor Staub schützt, habe ich bereits gekauft, somit stört es mich überhaupt nicht, das der Papiereinzug von auÃen erfolgt. Die Nachhaltigkeit, die einfache Bedienung und das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis war ein wichtiger Grund meiner Kaufentscheidung. Ich kann diesen Drucker mit 5 Sternen weiterempfehlen!

L’impression est plus lente, mais de bonne qualité, l’imprimante est vite rentabilisé au vu du prix et de la quantité d’encre, fini les cartouche quis impriment 30 pages à 40 balles, l’imprimante est plus chère qu’une imprimante classique à cartouches, mais avec le nombre d’impression qu’elle fait, on économise sur les cartouches classique qui sont très chères pour peu d’encre.., finalement, l’imprimante est plus économique avec les réservoirs. Quand au wifi, rien à dire, c’est vraiment reconnu par tous les périphèriques (PC, Smartphone, tablette…) design épuré et assez grande, vraiment très satisfaisant…

Premettendo l’entusiasmo dell’unboxing e del piacere di prepararla con la procedura che prevede il caricamento degli inchiostri, del posizionamento della testina ecc…mi domandavo fin lì come potessero esserci commenti così negativi da parte di alcuni cui non ho voluto dar retta, ma purtroppo è mio malgrado mi devo aggregare alla schiera di recensioni negative. La stampante in sé si presenta molto bene e trovo sia ben ingegnata, non fosse che proprio non vuole funzionare.
Non riceve messaggi di ordine di stampa né attraverso l’app dedicata né attraverso il wi-fi.
O meglio diciamo che la ricezione non è proprio così smart. Impiega una vita prima cominciare la stampa (si può preparare un caffè nel frattempo) ma la cosa più grave è che non stampa più di 2 massimo tre fogli…poi o interrompe definitivamente la stampa o se ne va, anzi torna in letargo dicendo al software che “la stampante è occupata” (a far cosa ben non si capisce) il problema è che non si libera mai!!!!!
Già dalle prime pagine di prova, ma pensavo fosse in rodaggio…pensa che deficiente𤪠poi ho dovuto stampare un documento di 10 pagine. Non vi dico, ci ho impiegato più di mezz’ora!!!!
Provato a contattare l’assistenza maaa….ciao bella ciao!!! A questo punto faccio il reso e spero che qualcuno mi possa consigliare una smart tank che funzioni bene….qualche consiglio?
Il mio ve l’ho dato, è un vero peccato, forse è solo sfortuna e chiunque, come ho fatto anch’io, è liberissimo di sfidarla.

spero possa essere utile per chi come me ha trovato gli stessi difetti e che, malgrado l’inefficienza del customer care di HP ho risolto con una semplice mossa.
Lascio volutamente il testo negativo cui avevo dato una stella, per dire che ho sospeso l’azione già avviata di reso del prodotto in quanto ho appunto risolto il problema e adesso la stampante funziona a meraviglia.
Ecco cosa NON fare quando la configurate con WIFI: dalle impostazioni del WiFi del vostro device NON dovete attivare in nessun modo l’azione DIRECT HP…..inserendo anche la password. Ecco, quello è il passaggio incriminato che crea un non so che di conflitto per cui la stampante non risponde, risulta occupata e non riesce a stampare i documenti (specie se dà più pagine) tutto qui.
Anzi un’altra cosa dovete assicurarvi di fare prima della stampa di un doc lungo. Tenere lo schermo del device attivo, almeno sino a quando l’input delle pagine da stampare sia completo, altrimenti la legge come una voluta interruzione di stampa.
Così vi tornerà il sorriso ð nella convinzione che avevo anch’io quando mi domandavo: ma possibile che una HP abbia fatto uscire una stampante così interessante che non funziona? Ero triste anche per il fatto che il mercato, fatto poche eccezioni, non offra tante alternative sul genere….e poi che sbatta!!!!!
Ci sono dovuto arrivare da solo, ma l’importante è esserci arrivati.
