The Exctool ET331 is an all-new upgrade from basic OBD II code readers in all aspects. Not only can this full OBD2 mode OBD2 diagnostic tool read diagnostic fault codes and freeze frame data, it can also read live engine parameters, O2 sensor test/ on-board monitor test results and do an EVAP test to better help you diagnose car issues. Live Data

Retrieve real-time data or status from various sensors and components in the vehicle, such as engine RPM, coolant temperature, vehicle speed, oxygen sensor readings, and more.

Mode 05

Provides access to the engine control module oxygen sensor monitor test results. Not available on vehicles with Controller Area Network (CAN) system. Go to Mode 6 for these cars.

Mode 06

On-board monitor tests: It allows access to the test results for on-board diagnostic monitoring tests of specific components that are both continuously monitored (e.g. misfire monitoring) and non-continuously monitored (e.g. catalyst system).

EVAP Test (Mode 08)

It allows you to Initiate a leak test for the vehicle’s EVAP (Evaporative Emission Control System) to check the integrity and functionality of the system that captures and stores fuel vapors.

Common Q&A

1. What vehicles is it compatible?

Passenger cars that are OBD-II or EOBD compliant, including most petrol vehicles from 2001 and diesel from 2004 in the UK and EU. Commerial vehicles including vans, buses, or trucks may NOT be supported.

2. Does it work with electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles?

No.

3. Does it read error codes in ABS, airbag (SRS) or tpms?

No, it only read emission-related check engine light (CEL, also called MIL or SES) codes. Other systems are based on manufacturer-proprietary protocols and require more advanced tools.

4. Can it reset oil light?

No.

5. What live data can be read by this diagnostic tool?

Readable parameters depend on what’s installed on the OBDII system by the manufacturer. It usually includes engine coolant temperature, long & short term fuel trim, mass air flow rate, fuel rail pressure, oxygen sensors, etc. DPF data cannot be read since it’s manufacturer specific.

6. Why does code erasing fail?

Some codes require the fault to be fixed first.
