A great little Chromebook.
Having had an Apple iPad for a while, I decided to change to a Chromebook instead. I had done some extensive research into which was the best one out there for the budget I had at the time. This one came in just under £200 which was ideal.
The Acer Chromebook is very easy to set up, the instructions were clear and concise as soon as your turned it on. The screen is sharp and videos watched on YouTube look good. The sound is probably the only let down because it sounds very tinny. But, if you put a good set of headphones in then that should sort that issue out.
It is incredibly lightweight as well. Laptops of old used to leave your legs feeling dead after using them they were that heavy. The battery life is amazing! I only use it in the evenings and It still has plenty of battery charge left after 3 or 4 days. Charging doesn’t take long either, roughly 90 minutes until it’s at 100%. Less if you’re charging with higher battery life left.
When doing your research look at when the automatic updates finish. Thankfully, I will continue to receive updates up until 2026. Which is more than enough for me.
I can highly recommend this Chromebook if you’re on a tight budget. If money is no object then are some really good ones out there to.

Great Budget Laptop
Bought on Prime for my adult son. He’s absolutely thrilled with it. However, he is only using it for browsing and music. It’s compact, lightweight and the speed is excellent. He feels it is a good buy!

Great product, perfect choice
Just unpacked the laptop, and so far we’re really happy with it. My teen loves how it moves from laptop to ipad mode seamlessly. The design of the keypad, camera, speakers etc are excellent quality and couldn’t fault it. After a laptop from the famous ‘A’ brand, we’re not disappointed with the change of loyalty!

Great battery life
Amazing chromebook, converts to a tablet when needed. Nice feeling keyboard, trackpad is very precise. Screen is clear and touch function is excellent. I think this is brilliant value as well. It is also very light, under a kilo I think. Feels sturdy and the hinge is first class, very happy.

Fast, lightweight, well-built
Excellent lightweight ultra portable Chromebook. I have used Chrome OS before, so I am used to its variances from Windows; but once you have become used to the slightly different keyboard layout and settings, it is ideal for web browsing, office tasks (WP, spreadsheets etc.), multimedia, photos and more.
This machine is very well laid out and easy to use: the keyboard is fast and accurate, and very comfortable even after hours of continuous use; the screen is sharp and easy on the eyes (especially if you use the automatic night-light setting); the processor is a joy – however many windows I have open nothing has made it hesitate for an instant; connecting a printer via wi-fi was a doddle.
There are adequate ports (USB-C, USB-A, 3.5mm headphone/mic combo jack) but of course one can always use a USB-C hub to add ports, including HDMI. Several good ones available here on Amazon for very little money.
Chromebooks are always fast to start up and shut down, but this one seems, subjectively at least, faster than most.
All in all, this is a very well-sorted and attractive machine. I’m very pleased with this purchase – I’m considering buying another for my wife to replace her current Windows laptop.

Love it.. on the whole
So this is my first new laptop in a while.. was used to the heavier Samsung 14″ from years ago. The keyboard-touchscreen option is so useful. Lovely and light but doesn’t feel feeble or fragile. The display is clear and sharp enough, the keypad nice to use and mousepad responsive, though obviously I don’t have much experience of laptops this modern. I’d say it runs a little slower than I expected, tho I have been transferring a large volume of files. I’m massively struggling with the split screen, cannot get it to work despite using it easily on other computers. Maybe that’s just me. The only think I’m mad about is that I cannot pin pictures/documents to the desktop. I am used to having a cluttered screen when on turning on my laptop.. with important files sitting readily available. I’ve done some googling for workarounds, but there arent any. The fact you can have apps but not individual files and folders on your main screen is infuriating. Apart from that I do love this laptop and it’s genuinely great value for money.

Struggles with basic internet browsing
Very cheap but not very good, struggles to keep connected to my router, very slow and frustrating to use when browsing the internet. I can’t use it to stream anything as the sounds jumps every 15 seconds. I’d avoid, I’m probably going to get a replacement and spend a bit more on something usable.

Not Suitable for All Apps, But Fine for Basic Tasks
I purchased the Acer Chromebook with the expectation that it would run an app from the Google Play Store that I needed for my podcast. Unfortunately, I quickly discovered that this Chromebook couldn’t handle some app’s due to its limited capabilities. I was under the impression that Chromebooks could run any app from the Play Store, but this wasn’t the case here.
While I ended up returning the device for a refund, I can see how it might be suitable for someone who only needs a very basic machine. If all you’re looking for is a device for word processing, web browsing, or other simple tasks, this Chromebook should work just fine. However, if you need something with more power or compatibility for more demanding apps, I’d suggest looking elsewhere.
Overall, this Chromebook might be a good choice for those with minimal computing needs, but it wasn’t the right fit for me.
