Excellent performance plug and play gigabit fiber ethernet converter
I have just got this Baudcom gigabit fiber ethernet converter to upgrade my connection between my house and the security camera at the gate. Since the camera is far away from my nearest switch more than 100m so I had to put another switch in the middle to keep the strength of the connection but it was still not good. By replacing the copper cable with fiber, I am now able to get a direct strong fast connection without lags to watch the live footage on my security camera.The installation process is pretty easy and straightforward, plug and play1. setup the fiber2. connect the fiber to the converter and our switch (our switch has dual fiber port so we only need one converter. Otherwise, you need to purchase two of the converters)3. connect the devices with the converters via RJ-45 port as normal copper cable and the system is ready.Overall, I would like to recommend this gigabit fiber ethernet converter due to its “plug and play” and performance

Baudcom Gigabit SingleMode Fiber to Ethernet Media ConverterWell made converter from RJ ethernet to single mode fibre for longer transmission runs.Unit is well made in robust metal body, useful set of operating lights on one end. Includes a mains 5V DC power supply, though short cable lengths.Good option for longer connectivity where a fibre cable is more suitable.

Easy to set up.
My son-in-law has converted his garage into a bedroom for my youngest granddaughter. I suggested that he might try this converter to connect her to the WWW. So as it was the cheapest option open to him thatâs just what he did. I also had a role of CAT7 Ethernet cable-note the âhadâ-and no money changed hands.Although he has little or no knowledge of how to set up this equipment, he phoned me to say it was working perfectly.This BD-1000M-20 is a metal box with 6 lights and 3 ports. Itâs lightweight and the casing is strong and powder coated. There are a number of similar converters on Amazon that are quite a bit cheaper than this Baudcom model. Would I buy it? Yes, itâs been tried and tested and so far reliable, thatâs worth more than saving a few pounds.

This is a solid converter that transitions from RJ Ethernet to single mode fibre, perfect for extended transmission distances.The unit features a sturdy metal casing and has a handy set of indicator lights on one side. It comes with a 5V DC power supply, although the cable lengths are a bit short.It’s a great choice for situations where fibre cabling is the better option for longer connections.

Works Great, Just Plan for Power Needs
I used this gigabit media converter to convert Single Mode Fiber for an internet circuit connected to an out-of-band management device that didnât have an SFP port. The device worked perfectly without any issues. Just a heads-upâif youâre installing this in a data center, make sure to order a C14 to NEMA adapter for the power supply if your PDUs use that type of plug. Solid product and did exactly what I needed!
