Incredible base / entry model
This is a review of the Apple iPhone 17e, shipped and sold by Amazon UK.I am a long-term Apple user for phones and computers – in the past I have had the iPhones 3GS, 4S, and SE generations 1, 2 and 3. Whilst my 3rd Gen SE is still working fine, I wanted a phone with a better battery life and more internal storage – these two factors are big drawbacks on the SE 3rd Gen, so to see a new entry level iPhone such as the 17e with a better battery and 256GB storage on the base model, I had to buy it. And Amazon had it at 10% off, so I bit the bullet a bit earlier than planned!Delivery was late despite paying extra, but it got delivered to a locker in the end (if you are paying full price, sadly delivery to a locker won’t be an option as it’s classed as too high value). Packaging by Amazon was sufficient – personally I’d have preferred more though.I did panic a bit after ordering because some YouTuber’s claimed that this model doesn’t have a SIM card slot! However, this only applies to the USA version (I’m guessing eSIMs are more common there). So I can confirm that the UK version, as sold by Amazon UK, does indeed have the normal iPhone SIM card tray! The phone functions well and it’s nice that the screen uses all the space (unlike the SE which cuts the top and bottom off a bit.Having had it for a few days now, the battery is much better than the SE 3rd gen – previously, I’d be scared to leave the house with anything less than 100% charge as by the time I’d come home from work, I’d be on about 50% battery with light / conservative use. The 17e, however, allows me to use my phone more (e.g. streaming music whilst commuting – and streaming uses more battery than local playback by the way – which is what I was doing on the SE) without the battery draining. I left the house with 100% charge on the 17e the other day, streamed music whilst commuting to/from work, used my phone at work for browsing etc, and came home with 85% remaining. So it’s much better than the SE.If you are an SE user then you probably don’t like big phones, but the reality these days is that the phone size and battery size are linked – i.e. if you want a bigger battery, you’re gonna need to get a bigger phone. The 17e isn’t obnoxiously big though – it’s a little bit bigger than the SE 3rd gen, so adapting to it should not be a problem. It does feel noticeably heavier in my pocket though. One gripe I did notice immediately however is that if you are connected to a VPN, or have bluetooth headphones connected, there is no visible icon in the top area to let you know this – you can only see this information if you swipe down from the top right corner, which opens up control center. Not a major issue, but I feel like this is the opposite of an improvement. I prefer to know, at a glance, if my headphones are connected.Another thing to note is that there is no touch ID available on this model. That means you have to use face recognition or a pass code. I didn’t really like the idea of face recognition at first, but I thought I’d embrace the technology and give it a go, and it does actually make everything a lot easier. The bottom line is that if you don’t care about having the latest 10 billion mega pixel camera, this is probably the phone for you. Great battery life, great display, fast, USB C charging, and a whopping 256GB storage as standard. This is probably the best base model iPhone Apple have ever released!UPDATE:Having had this phone for a week now, I am very happy with it. I initially used my physical Lebara SIM card in it, but decided to switch to Smarty in order to get a plan with more data. Smarty had eSIM as an option, so I decided to try it. The whole process was very easy – I was able to activate the eSIM immediately instead of waiting for a SIM card in the post. So if you are unsure about eSIM, I highly recommend giving it a go. Another big advantage is that if your phone gets lost or stolen, your SIM card isn’t at risk. So just wanted to say eSIM works great on this iPhone 17e! I don’t think I will be going back to physical SIM cards!

iPhone 17e Best Budget ðð¯ðºð¸ð±
17e is a welcomed & fresh update of 16e & despite not having (for now) Dynamic Island until next year w/ 18e, the 17e does an extraordinary job for a minimalist like myself. I love it & Iâm a big fan as well as invested in low budget quality devices like Apple does currently. So 5 * from me, works like expected & has everything I need & itâs light & powerful + excellent battery life. Thank you Amazon & Apple ðð»ðºð¸ð¤©ð¯ð¬ð§

Great device
Excellent battery life. Easy to use. Love the pink finish. Camera quality is good enough for me. Happy that it has more storage which is a big deal for me. Bought the iphone16 and returned it due to poor battery life and overheating and this 17e replacement is cheaper but much much better. I cant recommend this enough.
