One of the best plugs, that is easy to fit
Tecmojo CAT6A Shielded RJ45 Field plug 10Gigabit, 2 PackThis is a good quality metal plug that is simple to wire once you get the hang of it. The box contains two plugs, in pieces, in their individual compartments. Each plug has a copper strip to help shield the stripped cable. This should be on top of the compartment but, being thin, may have slipped out of sight inside the box.The finished plug fits tight into a cat socket and is easy to remove by pressing down on the retaining clip, which is much sturdier than on many ordinary plugs. This was my first time fitting this type of plug, and initially had a few problems (see below). However, these were sorted out and it was due my inexperience. Now I know how to do it, subsequent plugs will be a lot simpler :-)I wired this plug in T568B format, using Tecmojo external single core Cat 6 cable. I found it rather fiddly trying to line up all the wires at once in the separate block, so I threaded the bottom row in first, then did the top row.My mistake was thinking that the top row threaded in and out of the holes like the bottom row. They don’t! The cable threads in through the front hole and ends up sticking up when it reaches the other side as there is no proper exit hole. The cable ends from both rows were then trimmed back using electrical scissors. I put the block in place and closed the plug. I found that it needed a bit of pressure to close the plug as the individual wires were pressed into place. I also found it a bit of a job to screw on the nut that fits over both parts of the plug. The two parts of the plug have to be completely flush or the nut will not fit on the plug or may cross thread. I did eventually get this on OK after checking there was no obstruction inside the plug.Instructions state to strip the outer cable sleeve off for 30mm. In fact, as long as it’s a minimum of 30mm, you can strip off as much as you like. The more you strip off, the longer the individual wires will be which might make it a bit easier until you get used to wiring the plug. Any excess that is left over is simply trimmed off once the block is threaded.

    Simple Network Connectors
I used these field plugs for terminating some CAT6A network cables in my home office. I really like that they are tool-free, making the job incredibly quick and easy. I just pushed the wires into the colour-coded slots and snapped the plug shut. The metal body feels robust and gives good shielding against electrical noise. I achieved the full 10-Gigabit speed right away without any connection issues. This two-pack is good value for quickly making custom length cables or performing an on-site repair. They provide a reliable, high-speed connection. These are a strong choice for anyone doing network cabling.

    Easy to use
So easy and worked first time! Have wasted hours using the normal crimp on plugs and now I get full speed.

    Quick and easy
Whilst using a crimping tool and plugs is far cheaper if you are doing lots of cables for the occasional job these fit the bill perfectly.Firstly they are high quality metal and plastic contruction and feel like they will last many cycles of plugging and unplugging.Secondly they are so simple to use. Just insert the 8 wires into the appropriate channels on the connector, trim off the excess and clamp together. Pretty much perfect first time without the hassle of tools.Fits into the socket no problem, I’ve had cheaper connector be tight and not release properly.Compatible with solid core or stranded.Recommended for that one off job.

Won’t work with typical thinner gauge Cat6 or Cat8 cable you buy from Amazon
A very important thing you should realise: these are only intended to work with thicker gauge cable (23–26 AWG) than the popular Cat8 or Cat6 you have probably bought from Amazon (e.g. I got some UGREEN which was AWG 30 and ARISKEEN which was AWG 32 i.e. a lot thinner than the AWG 23-26 cable these connectors are designed for).So for me, it wasn’t ever going to work. What happens is the contacts don’t bite deep enough to make a good contact (see picture), and if they do you risk cutting through the very thin wire. Intermittent or failed connections result.Although the quality seems fairly high – I’ve docked stars because (at the time I got them) it was not advertised as being limited to 23-26 AWG – I only found out from the instruction manual once they arrived. They might work fine for thicker gauge cable, but this limitation should be advertised front and centre. Also a bit pricey perhaps. On the plus side, in terms of easy of use, the ‘feed through’ approach helps keep wires in position until you’ve clamped them down and this is a step up from some other connectors I’ve tried in the past.

Built like a tank! Looks and works great!
I had a connection which I wanted to be super robust and these connectors from TecMojo looked the perfect thing! The connectors themselves are ruggedly built. They are absolute tanks and are built with strength in mind. The metal used is great, thick and solid! The connectors clip in super securely into the Ethernet ports and I have had no issues so far. The connectors clock into place like no other RJ45 I own and it really feels secure.Putting together the cable was a little bit fiddly but didn’t take too long to get it sorted. Once it was together, I was able to do a line test on it and I was getting a nice strong signal!Overall, I am really happy with this. The connectors not only look the part but they are built to last. I can highly recommend these if you need to put this somewhere it’s going to get bashed or if you just want to upgrade the looks! 5/5

Not the easiest RJ45 plugs to wire but they do provide superior connectivity
These RJ45 connectors are not for the uninitiated when it comes to wiring them up for use. Anybody who has tried this procedure with a normal connector will know how fiddly it is but, with this system, it is even more complicated. Nevertheless, once completed, the robust connection these plugs provide is well worth the effort.
