By using the Macro Extension Tube!

22

These extension tubes are designed with all the circuitry and mechanical coupling to maintain auto focus and TTL auto exposure with Canon lenses, given there is enough light to activate the cameras AF system properly.

33

Attach to camera or detach in the same way as attaching or detaching the camera’s master lens.

44

With Canon type of tube,be sure to attach master lens only after tube has been properly attached to camera body.Take care not to mistake this order lest it fails to couple with the TTL meter or the AE mechanism. This, however, does not apply to other types of tube.

55

Suitable lenses are from standard to semi-telephoto as well as micro lenses.Wide-angle and zoom lenses are also usable, but depending on how the lens is combined with the tube distance between lens front and subject may become extremely close.

Customers say

Customers find the macro extension tubes work well with Canon 1100D cameras, are simple to use, and offer good value for money. The build quality receives mixed feedback, with some praising its construction while others find it cheaply made. Autofocus performance and fit are also mixed aspects, with some reporting good results while others experience issues with connections not always connecting properly.

    Cheap yet functional
Very cheap but fully functional. The electronic contacts work well to connect the lens through to the body. They are tight fit and not the smoothest of action when fitting to the camera and lens, which is the only reason I gave 4 instead of 5.

    Camera Extension tube
They do the job. A quick and dirty option but you really can’t expect much at this price. They’re really just a tube that fits onto your camera to which you can fit your lens onto. It did worry me a little as there’s an uncomfortable crunchy sound doing it but I was surprised by the results compared to without them and allowed me to get much closer to the subject. It’s not transformative but it’s pretty good. Regardless, I can’t complain at £21 (and there’s a 10% voucher!)

    Poor quality ring locking mechanism.
I have used a similar one on my other camera and bought some 30 years ago and works brilliantly. This one however was disappointing, especially when I found that after I attached it to my camera body that it would not disconnect due to the poor quality of the locking mechanism. The auto focus works and image stability is good but the first point I made is what breaks it for me. I was on a ‘photo shoot’ only to find I couldn’t swap over lenses due to this fault. I’ll probably convertit to a pen holder.

I was so hopeful after reading some really good reviews!
And very sorely disappointed when not a single thing would come into focus 😭 maybe mine is faulty or maybe I’m just doing something wrong somewhere along the line! In theory it’s a brilliant product but that’s where it ends for me!

    Affordable lens for student
Bought for Grandson who is doing GCSE photography. Took a while to work out how to do it. Has enhanced his work and at a reasonable price.

Handy if you need a bit more back focus on telescope camera adaptor
So I needed some additional distance between the camera and the telescope in order to obtain focus as my telescope focuser at maximum reach wasn’t able to focus correctly and the adaptor supplied with the scope was too long and took the focal length further than needed. Looked for telescope extension tube and couldn’t find anything at a reasonable length (needed about 25mm).So looked at these which would achieve the same aim and also give me some macro capability.Result, added the 21mm extension tube between the scope and the camera and this moved the focus point for very distant objects into the sweet spot. I now have decent range of focuser movement when focusing on a distant object (a tree during daytime in my case) so that I can run my autofocuser and not worry about failing to achieve focus on stars/other distant objects.Tested briefly with 70D camera and 300mm lens for macro and you’ll definitely benefit from using a tripod and shutter release cable when going for true macro shots as the depth of field is tiny and needs very careful positioning to achieve focus when using as a macro extension. Autofocus will hunt a lot if you aren’t close to the actual focus position and this is helped hugely by fixing the position of the camera relative to the object. Hint, it’s a lot closer than you might think. This might help some folks in a similar situation.

    Works but be careful
The tubes work as intended. Autofocus works as well. However, the opening/closing mechanism is rather rudimentary and of low quality. After a few days of trying, I am still unable to remove one of the tubes from my lens! Luckily it is only a Canon kit lens, but nevertheless this is rather unpleasant experience. My suggestion would be to play with the tubes by putting them on and off each other till the safety mechanism loosens up and you feel comfortable with ease of operation. Do not start by mounting these tubes on an expensive lens!

Klappen gut.
