I’ve had a Roku stick before but wanted to try this format so that I could trail a longer hdmi cable to my avr (to use it to switch output to a projector as well as a tv). It works well. The only issue was getting the settings on the TV right so that the Roku would recognise it as a 4k screen. Otherwise it would only offer 1020p. Managed it eventually, so that 4k and hdr are on hand. The picture and sound are excellent, the choice of apps is great, and the device operates slickly. I have not tried its competitors but would not feel I had to. Recommended.

Recently I cancelled pay to view TV and having already owned one ROKU on another TV I wanted another for the TV in the kitchen.I read up and this model was reviewed as the best option for me.The model is fast and easy to operate. The updated handset is easy to set up to use with the TV and there is a volume control on the side.Easy to download on and operate with a vast number of programmes and films.Great value for money.

As stated in various reviews, it comes with a USA power brick, so ensure if ordering, ensure you have a UK mains usb power adapter, as I am unsure if it will work properly via a TV usb power outlet.Once plugged in it goes through a set up routine, though I could figure out how to skip past the ‘ add payment method ‘ details.You can whizz through the apps you want installed, and once set up is complete, login to each of them.It’s not a versatile as a Firestick, no way to get Downloader on for some apks.I haven’t fully put it through its paces, but the interface seems ok, with no advert orientated bloat that plagues Fire TV devices, and menus aren’t cluttered either.My initial experience is that I will probably swap out all my Amazon devices, being as they don’t seem to care anymore, never listening to feedback, and forever degrading the once enjoyable Fire TV experience, by turning it into an electronic billboard.

Works a treat with Samsung
My Samsung television does not support the iFIT app and I have positioned it to use the bigger screen with my exercise bike. So I use this to give me Roku, which does give me ifit. Then I play my iFIT workouts synchronously on my exercise bike screen and a large TV ( Samsung with this device on HDMI input) positioned ahead of me. Works a treat and saved me upgrading to a 27 inch screened Nordic track bike. The only extra work is synchronising the two iFIT workout streams but that gets pretty easy once you are used to doing it. 38â screen is ace!

If you live in South Africa, I do not recommend you buy it, because most of the features do not work there, some apps do not appear and is not possible to install and if you like the soccer international live sport events you will be frustrated. The voice assistant does not work, even the voice search option

Great device!!! Easy to hook up to our TV. This little device has now allowed our older smart TV to stream all of our paid as well as free programs, such as Prime, Netflix (which with the change in advertising(tiered payment)we were no longer able to watch Netflix unless we we paid the much higher subscription with no advertising, which we refused to pay). So so glad we purchased this!

After FlipKart shipped the wrong TV and refused to accept the unopened version back, I ordered this little guy to make the TV smart capable. It allows me to connect my phone to project apps onto TV and play music and shows from around the world that do not have an app. It is small and comes with a remote. Haystack news, Spotify, Netflix are available as apps. J wish more Roku apps were available in India.I take this with me when traveling so I have access to news and updates in English while in hotels where I do not speak the language.
