Kobo Clara 2E A more environmentally friendly way to read and hear, E Ink Black

Fantastic e-reader with great battery life and user experience. The screen is very similar to the experience of reading from paper and the reader is set up with good software for organising, grouping and sorting through larger libraries.

Compact, good price
Bought to replace my old Kobo Glo, on left in the picture, Clara on right – Glo screen became randomly non responsive to commands (but lasted 10yrs) hope the Clara is as reliable. Similar size, definately faster startup and shutdown, and more features as you would expect with a newer device. WiFi is a lot better, and screen seems sharper, it works well with the ‘Callibre’ ebook application I use on my PC. Only downside is that there is no SD card expansion slot, but I never really needed that, I can always store books I am not currently reading on my PC in Callibre.

Easy to use
I replaced my old faithful NOOK (which I had for many years ) with this KOBO Clara 2e Sadly my Nook was in my suitcase which got lost at an airport.After lots of researching I decided on the Kobo mainly because I did not want to be tied to an Amazon kindle with its palaver on downloading ePub books. I am delighted with my Kobo, I have added 6 of my epubs already and all looks good. Very simple to use and really lightweight. Would definitely recommend.

So far I’ve had this 3 weeks, I originally was going for the Libra 2 but the price had shot up and I had some work vouchers, I choose this as it was more flexible in the formats it supported and did not tie me into the Amazon world.There are plenty of sites where you can find many free books in the epub format if you look, I found ten that I wanted to read and it was a straight drag and drop to load them.I thought the screen would be too small but its fine and weighs next to nothing, I prefer reading in dark mode and have ordered the basic sleep cover from Kobo as I could not find that one on Amazon plus I’ve noticed Amazon prices creeping up on a few things.So far I am happy with my first foray into e book readers.

Der eBook Reader ist sehr gut verarbeitet. Ist leicht, dünn und liegt sehr gut in der Hand. Die Rückseite ist angenehm.Das Gerät hält nicht so lange Akku, wie mein altes, die Akkulaufzeit ist trotzdem in Rahmen. Das Akku wird über USB-C Kabel aufgeladen. Man kann fast alle Formate damit lesen und ist nicht von nur einem Anbieter abhängig. Das lesen von PDF ist möglich, aber weniger komfortabel. Touchscreen reagiert schnell und genau. Die Bedingungen ist einfach und intuitiv. Die Bildschirmbeleuchtung ist Tagesabhangig automatisiert und passt sich selbst an. Wenn man das nicht mag, kann man die Farbtemperatur und Beleuchtung manuel einstellen. Den dunklen Modus finde ich sehr praktisch und benutze ihn im Dunkeln sehr häufig.Die Schriftgröße kann man je nach Bedarf anpassen. Speicher kann man durch eine SD -Karte nicht mehr erweitern.
