Smart and Convenient â Great Lock with Room for Small Improvements
I recently installed this smart door lock and so far, itâs been a great upgrade for my home. The 5-in-1 functionality is super convenient â Iâve tested the fingerprint, password, Bluetooth, key, and app features, and they all work reliably. Itâs perfect for my bedroom, but would also work well in an office or apartment setup.The fingerprint reader is quick and accurate, and the app connectivity makes it easy to manage access without physical keys. I also like the modern black design it looks sleek and fits in nicely with the roomâs style.The reason Iâm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the instructions could be clearer, especially for people who arenât very tech-savvy. Setup took a bit longer than expected. Also, the Bluetooth range is decent, but not great you need to be fairly close to the door for the app to connect reliably.

Worth every penny
I’ve got no experience taking apart or installing door handles so I was a little nervous when it came about to installing this smart door handle. It truly was plug and play. The door handle fit perfectly in the hole of the old one. The kit comes with a replacement door latch and strike plate. I didn’t have to use these as my original ones worked fine but it’s a nice to have. The build quality is excellent. It feels really durable and solid. The functionality is great. You can activate Passage mode which keeps the handle in the always open position. This is useful when you only want the door locked at certain times and don’t want to have to use your fingerprint or code each time to open the door. When you want the door to be locked, you can easily exit passage mode and the handle will require authentication each time to open the door. The fingerprint scanner is super responsive and I have had no issues so far. Others have recommended assigning the same fingerprint multiple times to get a lower rejection rate. I’ve only assigned my fingerprint once and have had no problems with false rejections. The scanner can get confused sometimes if trying to scan your fingerprint with wet hands. A quick wipe of your finger with a towel (or even your shirt) solves this.

Good Smart Lock handle.
Having a handle you can lock is a thing you either need or don’t for whatever reason, be it on a rental room or to stop the kids into the bedroom for….reasons.This handle has multiple methods of access – have your watch unlock it, fingerprint or even a key if you need to, so you can’t say there’s no options. Everything needed is in the box (and it’s well packaged) except batteries. The main handle (the one with the keypad) is clearly heavier than the other side, more so with batteries.The installation manual is very clear with photographs and as said, all fittings are supplied. Unlocking via the keys (in emergency) works fine. Installation because of the manual is straightforward and shouldn’t be difficult for most if not anyone. The handles are of a good build quality, not the best I’ve ever had, but certainly nothing to complain about and again, installation and the fit to the door were fine.The application for phone is easy to get (it’s called eSmartLock) and there’s a QR code in the manual should you want it to be easy to download. It does require an account – which isn’t my favourite thing. When registering your account it asks for a “mailbox” – it seems this can be a phrase to retrieve the password should you forget, although most will think of it as a “Security Question” rather than “mailbox”. Everything is done from the App once you’re connected, from registering your fingerprint(s) to temporary passcodes and user access (you can even time limit user access as well), so it is very well thought out. This feature could be useful for B&B type door access where you limit the access for x days for example.For the functionality the handle provides, it is well worth the price tag. Sure it’s not the absolute best quality handles I have had or used, but for a Smart Lock, it’s very, very good indeed. It was easy to fit (although I’ve just had new doors fitted recently), the app has a lot of functionality that you may never need for a home, but beyond that your needs should be met and you have two keys to unlock the door should the batteries run out (it says 12 months but that’s a long test to verify!!!). All in all, it’s a good lock for what it is and what you get.

Nice security door lock with multiple unlocking options
I’ve often thought about a security lock, you know so you can secure a room with valuables in the event of having workmen or similar in the house. But to date I’d not gone any further until this one came along.Aside from looking very high tech it was the attraction of being able to operate the lock my multiple methods that appealed to me most. My preference of course is to use the fingerprint reader, but having a number code entry option as well is handy in case you want to let someone else into the room or whatever when you’re physically not present.Add to this the app functionality for limiting when the door can be unlocked and how gives you loads of options with plenty of security that can be configured with ease. The final backup of being able to unlock the door with a physical key if for example the batteries have run out, or you forget the code or whatever is a nice reassuring backup.Fitting the lock to a door by replacing an old handle/lock etc… is a doddle with the superb instructions included with this lock. Even if you’re not a natural born handyman it is spelt out easily and clearly how to make the change and how to configure the lock when done. Overall I think this is a great option if you need some extra security for your home or office…
