Qube 500 Flatpack Case â Detailed Review & Feedback
Review:I recently built a system using the Qube 500 Flatpack (Black Edition), and it was an enjoyable experience overall. Here’s my breakdown:Pros:Flatpack Design: This concept is brilliant. Assembly revolves around just 12 screws for the main panels, making it straightforward. With a bit of refinement, this design could set a new standard for budget-to-mid-range cases.Packaging Quality: Excellent, though it could benefit from clearer instructions, especially regarding the layer-by-layer assembly.Cable Management: Surprisingly spacious and well-thought-out behind the motherboard tray. There are plenty of tie-down points, even for non-modular PSU users.Construction Quality: Sturdy and premium-feeling, elevating the look of my older components.Screw Uniformity: Using a single screw type simplifies assembly. Kudos for this smart choice.Cons:Documentation: The instructions felt scattered and unpolished, making it harder for new builders. A clearer step-by-step or color-coded guide would significantly improve usability.Cooling: Only one fan is included. For a case at this price point, an additional fan would be expected.Radiator Bracket: The hinged bracket feels underutilized. Without a mesh side panel, it adds little value.Customization Options: No additional accessories or replacement panels were available at purchase. A modular case like this begs for a catalog of add-ons.Screws & Aesthetic Choices: Silver screws on a black case feel mismatched, detracting from the overall finish.Tips for Builders:PSU Positioning: If you’re using a non-modular PSU, note that the case design provides ample clearance for long GPUs by routing cables cleverly.Cable Management: Plan and route cables early in the build process, especially around the motherboard.Cooling Adjustments: Consider adding extra fans. The case supports a variety of configurations, including a bottom-corner intake.Panel Prep: Fully route cables and connect motherboard components before locking in panels for easier assembly.Avoiding Snags: Pre-route the included fanâs cable to prevent interference with the rear panel.Suggestions to Cooler Master:Better Instructions: Collaborate with IKEA for clear, visual step-by-step guides. Even a simple layer diagram would elevate the experience.Include More Fans: A case of this caliber deserves better stock cooling, ideally two or three high-quality fans.Hexagon Patterns: Lean into your brand identity. Incorporate hexagon designs in ventilation, buttons, and cutouts for better airflow and aesthetics.Modular Accessories: Offer customizable panels, attachments, and replacement parts for a true modular experience.Radiator Bracket Redesign: Make side panels reversible or interchangeable. A mesh option would justify the radiator bracketâs inclusion.Premium Screws: Stick to uniform screws but offer black ones for black cases. Minor details matter.Side Panel Options: Replace the glass panel with mesh for improved cooling, especially for builds focused on airflow.Final Thoughts:The Qube 500 Flatpack is innovative and enjoyable to work with. Despite a few shortcomings, itâs a step in the right direction for modular PC cases. With some refinements in documentation, cooling, and customization options, it could be a game-changer.Rating: 8/10 â Great potential but room for improvement.

Fits a lot into a relatively very small space – modularity, 3D printing friendliness
Positives:- Fun and easy assembly- Very well-priced- Flatpacked for sustainability- 3D printing friendly – cooler master and individuals have published lots of awesome models you can print to add to the case- Modularity – the parts can be arranged in a bewildering number of ways, i.e. the handle and feet can be placed on any side, and there is a test bench mode. I’d be surprised to find a use-case it cannot handle!- High compatibility – can fit ATX, micro-ATX, and mini ITX motherboards, ATX, SFX, and SFX-L PSUs. In terms of storage it can handle 4 3.5″ drives (technically 6 because you can stack two on top of each other at the top and bottom of the case, I used 3D printed brackets). The drive connections to the case use rubber pads and screws that insert into them, so it’s a really convenient way to easily attach and detach the drives.- Very small for its capabilities- Easily detachable dust filters for easy cleaningNegatives:- The filter on the bottom panel tends to come off a little too easily so when I work on the computer on my bed it often gets pushed off by the blankets. This is a very minor issue.- I would have liked if it came with a second metal mesh panel to use instead of the tempered glass, as my priority is better cooling and performance rather than aesthetics.- 3.5″ hard drive placements could be improved. The 4th position is very sketchy, it is on the pivoting metal frame that rests against the glass panel. It does not make use of the same rubber pad attachment mechanism that the other drive mounts use, it just screws directly into the frame. Its position also makes the computer much uglier as a significant amount of the view is obstructed by the drive’s underside, and cable management gets much harder as you need to route SATA data and SATA power cables all the way to it, away from the other drives. I think they should’ve included drive brackets so that the top and bottom drive mounts could be used by two drives each.Overall, this is a very very impressive case for its price and size, and I personally love the 3D printing aspect of it!

Great case
I love the case, there are so many options to use it, really easy to assemble in multiple ways, good air flow, and looks.

One of the best cases I’ve ever seen…
I am very pleased overall with this case, I love the modular construction, I was worried after reading one review that claimed it fell apart when he picked it up…that is utterly impossible, the thing is built out of 2.5mm solid steel & weighs a tonne! Maybe he was using 30kg’s of lead as a heatsink?Absolutely no cooling issues for me, the mesh filters seem to be doing a fine job so far…The only reason i deducted 1 star is the left hand side panel must be slightly warped as the upper left corner keeps popping out of its push fit socket which is annoying. But i would recommend this case, it is well designed, looks great, is a good price & as I said, is built like a tank when complete, so yes, recommended 🙂

Probably the best DIY case
Plenty of options with the case. I opted for old style laying on its back. Makes it easier to access all the various parts. All panels are high quality and fit perfectly. The build up is a lot of fun and quite quick. I added a Reset button and an extra Power button on the rear of case. I’m a content creator, hence the low budget ARC A381 graphics card, but it is plenty fast enough for video editing. MSI X670E Carbon, complimented with a Ryzen 9900. Added a couple of ARGB fans for a bit of bling! Highly recommended.

Solid Good Quality
I love it! My other half built me a pc and found it easy to build in. Instructions very easy to follow. Comfortable build. Enough space. Great value for money.

Wow!
This is a great case, as you can start building your PC from scratch. Much easier to assemble your hardware. Airflow is excellent. Plenty of space, but I would rather advise SFX PSU due to PSU location on the front and in case you are using 280 mm water cooling. No problem with 240mm AIO.
