Donât go for the cheaper option – just buy these!
Had purchased a cheaper brand and was having constant issues with connectivity. With these you definitely get what you pay for. Since swapping to these weâve had no issues at all.

Cannot connect to echo pop
Not compatible with echo pop, but still work very well with Philips App

Bought to replace non functioning lamp.
Needed to change with lamp that was not responding to program only by manual light switch. Later found reason to be the lamp had moved to another room. Move lamp back to original room all good now puzzled how it happened but now got 2 spare lamps.

Pleasantly surprised!
First time I’ve used smart bulbs. I set up the Philips Hub on my phone by scanning the QR code provided. Put one bulb in bedroom and the other in the living room. It’s handy that I’m able to dim the light if I want to. I only turn the light switches on in the evening and then control them with my phone app. I haven’t yet tried to use Alexa or Google with them so can’t yet comment on that. I might try and have a go when I have more time.

Forget Hive, Hue lights are the best by far.
Tried Hive lights and persevered with them for years but they were so unreliable. Switched to Philips Hue and all my troubles disappeared.Hue bulbs work fine without a hub via Bluetooth, but to make the best of them I would recommend that you get a Hue hub.The energy rating F is under the new rating since 2022 which was the old A+ rating.The new rating measures lumens rather than Watts, so not easy to compare,but these are still far more energy efficient than the old style bulbs.

The headline says it all really. These are lovely bulbs if you want to use them with the Phillips Hue app. Maybe they were well if you have a Phillips Bridge, I don’t know. I bought them to work with Amazon echo Alexa, and they just don’t. They’re supposed to, but the pairing is very unreliable and if you are lucky enough to get them paired, they often failed to respond to Alexa voice commands. Returned for refund and bought cheap ones from Wickes, which do work easily and reliably with Alexa!

Really like Philips Hue. Have them connected to Google nest mini so you can control the brightness and when to turn them on/off. Already had the HUE bridge so it was an easy choice when upgrading the lightning to the other rooms.
