Product Description

The 27W USB-C Power Supply is an ideal power supply for Raspberry Pi 5, especially for users who wish to drive high-power peripherals, such as hard drives and SSDs, from Pi 5’s four Type A USB ports.
Delivering a maximum of 5.1V, 5A, it supports USB PD (Power Delivery), so Pi 5 can communicate with it and select the most appropriate power profile. This enables Pi 5 to increase the USB current limit automatically from the default 600mA to 1.6A, in order to provide extra power for devices connected to the four Type A USB ports.Additional built-in power profiles mean the iRasptek 27W USB-C Power Supply is also an excellent option for powering third-party PD-compatible products. The available profiles are 9V, 3A; 12V, 2.25A; and 15V, 1.8A, all limited to a maximum of 27W.

Multiple Output Options: The adapter offers a variety of output voltage options, including 5V for 5A, 9.0V for 3.0A, 12.0V for 2.25A, and 15.0V for 1.8A, providing flexibility to meet the needs of different devices.
Power Delivery Support: The Raspberry Pi 5 power Supply is equipped with Power Delivery technology for fast and efficient charging of compatible devices.
Compatibility: The 27W USB C power supply is compatible with Raspberry Pi 5 4GB/8GB.
Universal: The Raspberry Pi 5 power adapter has an input voltage range of 100-240V and a frequency of 50/60Hz.
Safe and Reliable: Built-in safety features such as over-current protection, over-voltage protection and short-circuit protection ensure the safety of connected devices.

Perfect Pi charger
I finally have a happy Pi that can be used to its full extent. I can’t believe that I didn’t know a large-capacity USB-C PD charger would be incapable of powering a Raspberry Pi 5. I mistakenly thought that a 45 Watt charger would easily power the Pi, but PD specifies multiple voltages in addition to 5 Volts, but they all restrict 5-Volt power to around 3 Amps. This charger isn’t a PD multiple voltage charger. It’s a dedicated 5 Volt / 5 Amp charger – not trying to be all things to all devices – and thus it’s exactly what the Pi 5 needs. Previously my Pi complained that it couldn’t operate at full power. Now with this charger I don’t get any error messages and I’m happy!

Doesnât power external drives on the PI 5
This power supply is not usable for powering a Raspberry Pi 5 with an external drive, which was the sole reason I bought it.The model name says 27w PD but in reality it doesnât have PD capability. It will power the Pi itself but the external disk will not power up.Tested for comparison with a different brand PS with actual PD capability, which powers up both the PI 5 as well as the external drive.
Customer Review –
An efficient power supply that works over a range of voltages
This appears to be a well made power supply and it works well. It is advertised as a power supply for a Raspberry Pi but it will actually power anything that has a USB C power connector and a draw of no more than 27W.It provides a clean power supply and doesnât run hot.The price isnât too bad and itâs useful to have a supply with the versatility to power a variety of devices so Iâm very happy with it.
