A basic remote security camera if you are on a budget
For the price this produces a reasonably good and clear image. It isn’t the highest definition on the market but it is also much cheaper than many of the competitors.Power comes from the included solar panel though the camera can also be charged up with a mains charger. I would suggest it is best to fully charge it to start with and use the solar panel to keep it topped up. The solar panel connects using a USB C cable and means this can be situated anywhere there is sunlight without having to worry about running a power supply to it. The solar panel seems to act as a standard USB power supply. I tried plugging it into my iPad and it reported that it was charging. The weakest part of the setup in my opinion is the rather clunky app. It did connect first attempt so it deserves credit for that but it can be a bit slow displaying images. It also requests information such as your location and needs to be connected to WiFi and requires the WiFi password to be entered. I’ve never had a problem but I always feel a bit uneasy entering sensitive information into Chinese apps.If you are happy to use the app this does a reasonably good job. It isn’t in the same class as the ones costing £100 upwards but if you are on a budget or just need something basic this will do the job.

Pretty good value, but doesn’t integrate with any smart home platforms
This is a nicely made little static outdoor camera. It’s quite easy to set up and has some good nice features, but none of what it does is outstanding.Video quality is fine, but isn’t a particularly high bitrate, so you’re not going to get the highest definition video from this and it’s definitely not 4k. One good feature is that it comes with some basic cloud storage that’s free for a limited time. It does make me wonder what will happen when that time runs out though. One thing I don’t like is the app, which is a bit basic and only works with this camera. I have several cameras that all use apps that look very similar but all require a unique account. It’s not compatible with any smart home software such as Home Assistant, Google or Alexa, so you’re forced to use the app. With so many similar apps doing exactly the same thing, it’s difficult to know which one goes with which camera at times. I really wish it used some kind of standard software platform so that I could monitor all my cameras together and automate things like motion detection. As it doesn’t do that, it’s not something I can personally recommend.

Not very good image quality. Very mixed bag.
I have several battery cameras, and this has the lowest picture quality of all of them. It is enough in perfect conditions and at just the right distance, but indoors, faces were burned out and detail lost. The solar panel works well and keeps the battery topped up making recharging un necessary. From experience, it will be enough to cover winter too in the UK with a panel that can see open sky. Another downside I did not think about, was yet another app! Not too well laid out with several settings being ambiguous. For example “spotlight” is ticked. Press it and it stays ticked, but the message says “successfully set”! And I was forced to set up a cloud account, which I did not want to use. There does not appear to be a sensitivity setting either, and the default is not very sensitive, ignoring people walking a short distance away, that I would have expected to have been detected. The more I think about it the less happy I am, because for about the same price you can get say TP-Link which is a superior product, with a better app and far more control. And what happens to the info stored on the cloud, when the best you can apply is a weak password (no special characters allowed)!

Initially easy to set up and economic monitoring solar camera for outdoor use, very poor app
Easy to set up and economic monitoring solar camera for outdoor use.Downloaded the 3-Link app, registered then powered up the camera, easy enough to add to the app then it did an update, then ready to use.I inserted a 64gb MicroSD card and formatted, set the camera to record with motion detection via the app, then installed it on our garage to monitor the front drive, which it covers quite well. I have not activated any of the alerts, as we have a doorbell camera that gives alerts when someone is actually at the door. The solar panel is currently on the garage roof, secured to some timber, weighed down by a sandbag, as this was the easiest way to fix it in a position where it will pick up the most sunlight. It does a good job of keeping the battery topped up.Recording quality is decent, switching between day and night setting as appropriate, with the results adequate for our purpose, good way to monitor the drive area and sufficient detail recorded. It picks up movement in the complete drive area. The equipment all seems well made and operates well; the app is the weaker part of the product. I had an initial issue where I appeared to be locked out of app access, resolved by registering again with a different email address. In use it can be slow to get past the initial screen, once it gets going it works OK. There are better apps out there with different products!EDIT the app has lost contact with the camera and won’t allow re-connection, similar to the issue I had originally, so now unusable though I suspect the camera is working in itself as the blue activity light comes on, but with no access via the app, not much use

    good picture quality
I’m using this camera to monitor the garage. Setup was simple and connecting to Wi-Fi didn’t take long. Like that it runs on solar so I don’t have to worry about charging it or running cables. Picture quality is clear enough for what I need, and motion detection picks up cars and people reliably. Notifications come through fast and the siren feature is a nice bonus, even though I haven’t really needed to use it yet. But, the app can be a little slow to load live footage sometimes.
