Good wide angle, excellent macro
I’ve got this for my Panasonic HC-X900M camcorder and while the dual lens assembly gives a slightly wider view than normal (see the photo with the expanded view shown surrounding the normal view) the big benefit for me is the macro lens, which allows for very detailed close-up work. It’s nice how the designers have managed to take a wide angle lens assembly and split into two halves whilst giving the inner half a second purpose which it’s actually really good at.
The inner lens fits a 49mm thread, the outer lens takes a 62mm thread (it says so on the lens cap) but the two lenses screw together with a thread that’s somewhere in between. It’s larger than 52mm but I don’t have anything else in between to try.
It comes with a little bag (looks like chamois), a cleaning cloth and dust caps front-and-back. Just add a suitable camera and away you go.

Great combination of wide angle and macro lens!
I obtained this to sit on the end of a Canon RF-S 18-45Â mm kit Lens, and it does a good job.
Out of the box, the lens has front and back lens caps to provide a basic level of protection. Removing the caps reveals the glass that is very impressive with its clarity⦠crystal springs to mind. The conversion lens screws on to the end of the in my case, kit lens needing the removal of the lens hood.
The lens does provide a good degree of wider angle but at the cost of some distortion. The macro lens is exposed when the wide angle part of the lens is removed. To be able to focus, I had to move the lens to within a couple of centimetres of the object being photographed. Due to the convex shape of the glass it protruded from the end of the lens barrel, so care is needed to not knock it against the photo object.
For a budget lens, it does a fair job and is light enough to be carried around for those events when it may be required. A substantial drawstring back is included that gives the lens some protection against knocks and scrapes when not in use.
It’s great for me as an amateur, but more proficient photographers will probably have a different view.

Nice quality lens
Looking forward to properly testing this out when we finally get some good weather, but so far this is shaping up to be a quality lens.
In the box you get the lense, a cleaning cloth and protective bag to store when not in use. It was easy to install onto my 49mm Canon EF-M lens, and with the wide angle adaptor on does open up the field of view. I’ve included a rather uninspiring shot from my office in not the best lighting, but gives an indication on the diference the lens makes. There was no significant impact on picture quality which was good, nor any noticable dark corners.
If you take off the wide angle lens, you can use it as a macro lens which is an added bonus.
As a simple lens to add to your kit for some extra flexibility or experimentation with your photography, this is a good introduction!

Affordable Wide Angle for My Canon EOS M50
Rather than spend a fortune on a dedicated wide angle lens I thought I’d try this wide angle conversion lens. Much to my suprise, it works amazingly well. I really doubt very much that anyone will be able to detect the difference between the results I got with this converter and a dedicated wide angle lens.
What’s really amazing is when you compare the quality of this conversion lens compared to the low asking price. It’s absolutely a no-brainer if you’re into wide angle photography. Love it!
