An “Alright” Beginner Drone but Somewhat Lacking
From the cheapest to the most expensive models on the market – drones are fun for people of all ages! They’ve had some bad press in the last few years with the introduction of operator licences and having to use user ID’s, but don’t panic… because of the size and weight of this 4DRC V18 Mini Drone you don’t need to worry about any of that. You can simply charge this drone and get to flying (or in my case for the first five minutes or so… crashing.)This is marketed as a beginner drone, and as such it would be perfect for anyone who has never operated one before. I say that because despite the low cost, it is pretty robust and should withstand quite a number of accidental bumps and knocks. Also, should something adverse happen and you were to lose or damage the drone, you might not feel as bad as you would have should this be a triple-figure drone. I once had a “whoops” moment with a previous drone a few years ago where the battery died mid-air. While I was bringing it in to land, it somehow landed on the roof of a double decker bus as it was driving away. Needless to say, I couldn’t recover that drone.While it does state that this drone can be used both indoors and outdoors, I would have concerns using it outside in anything other than very good conditions. This is a very small and lightweight drone, and I’ve not been brave enough over the last week to try this out in the open and in the wind myself. On your door step or in your garden should be fine, but take care if you are heading elsewhere with it.The build quality of the drone is alright for the price and it does come with some spare parts should you need them. Charging seems a bit odd, in that the light turns on when full but the opposite is true if using mains. Once you get used to the charging, and the drone controls, it is pretty easy to fly with three speed settings and the likes. Granted the pairing process is a bit of a pain. Plus try not to accidently “flip” or land the drone upside down, as you’ll have to walk over to it to recover. The drone is pretty basic and lacks a camera, and while it seems capable of doing 360-degree flips, I’ve not been able to work out how to do it yet (I see another reviewer has mentioned this as well.)While it does offer good value for money, one of the issues is that for not-that-much-more in cost, you can find other drones on the market that come with more features and offers more in performance. While there are a few problems, this isn’t necessary a bad drone by any measure. This is still worth considering should you really need something on a budget. If you can afford it, I would suggest you also look at the 4DRC F10 drone (from the same manufacturer as this one) which is foldable and has a camera.

Battery Missing From Box, Only Arrived With Two, No 3 As Stated.
Great child’s toy and very easy to use, My granddaughter has been playing with this for hours, It states it comes with 3 Batteries and I only got 2 in my box, hence why I only rated it 2 stars due to parts missing.Very easy to fly and very robust when it bumps into thing and the blade guards protect the blades very well. Good flight time per battery but the third one which is missing would be a bonus.
