When using a manual lens, the camera should be set to “M” manual mode.Since manual lenses lack electronic contacts for lens recognition, the inability to automatically adjust exposure values may result in photos that are too dark or too white. So manual setting of ISO and shutter speed is required. F00 displayF00 display F00 Display

Manual lenses do not have an electronic contact, “F00” is displayed because the camera is unable to acquire aperture information. At the same time, the aperture information cannot be adjusted from the camera, and the aperture value F/1.8-22 can only be adjusted by the len’s Aperture Ring.

Manual Focus (MF)

FULLY MANUAL LENS, no electrical contacts→ no autofocus→ no image stabilization

When using a manual focus lens (non-autofocus), you must rotate the “Manual Focus Ring” at the front of the lens to achieve sharp focus; otherwise, the subject will appear blurry in the viewfinder.Additionally, the aperture can only be adjusted via the “Aperture Ring” on the lens. For optimal results, ensure the viewfinder diopter is correctly set for your eyesight.Practice adjusting both rings to master precise control over focus and exposure. manual focusmanual focus

Why can’t I press the shutter after mounting the lens?

Please do Enable the “Release shutter w/o lens”, and switch to M, and then you can press the shutter to take a picture.

Why does my picture out of focus and very blurry?

For manual lenses, you must turn the focus ring on the front of the lens to focus. If the photo is still blurry after focusing sharply, please adjust the exposure by ISO/aperture/shutter speed.

Why it show “F00”? and How to adjust the aperture value?

Manual lenses do not have an electronic contact, “F00” is displayed because the camera is unable to acquire aperture information. For manual lenses, the aperture value can only be adjusted with the aperture ring on the lens.

How to do if the image turns out dark?

If the image is too dark, increase the ISO (e.g. from 800 to 1600) to increase the sensitivity, and decrease the shutter speed (e.g. from 1/250s to 1/125s) to allow more light onto the sensor.

How to do if the image turns out bright?

If the image is too bright, lower the ISO (e.g. from 200 to 100) to reduce the light sensitivity, and increase the shutter speed (e.g. from 1/125s to 1/250s) to reduce the exposure and avoid overexposure.

It’s a cheap lens, can’t ask for everything
Works alright, though lens isn’t well manufactured so there isn’t a crystal clear focal point on it, always a degree of blur. You get what you pay for at this price

    Overall good lens, some drawbacks
The lens is nice if you are on a budget. It won’t produce the same results as one you would get from Canon themselves but for the price, it does the job.

    Okay lens
Good for the price, considering! Don’t us it often as it take a bit to get the photos right and sometimes can be annoying trying to focus when in a hurry

  5. Customer Review

    Fits my Canon 2000D.
Ok, so I’m not going to try and make out like I’m some ort of professional photographer, far from it, I’m just a basic amateur that likes to take photos on holiday, or when out and about for a walk etc so forgive me if I don’t deep dive into all sorts of technical detail. It comes packaged well with a booklet, cleaning cloth and a small plastic bag to keep it in.This 85mm f1.8 medium telephoto lens fits my Canon 2000D perfectly, and when set to manual mode it works exactly as I’d expect it to.As it’s a manual lens you do need to focus this yourself, which I admit, I’m not used to doing, but it simple enough to work out.I’ve just playing around with it so far but have taken some nice shots of my partner and friends and the pictures show great detail of the people with the background being slightly out of focus or having good ‘bokeh’ I think the professional term is. I’ve also taken some landscape pictures, and wildlife shots. It works well in low light too, but I’m still learning and I’m working out how to adjust the f-stop to get the images I want.Overall, I’d say this is a great lens, it captures what I want with super clarity and is teaching me a lot along the way.

Bin Begeistert.
