Quality US product, easy to set up, does a great job.
I bought this fan to cool the air around my valve hi-fi amplifier. Even though it sits on an open shelf, heat was clearly building up, especially on the shelf above where another device sits. I built a simple wooden frame for the fans so that I could suspend them from the shelf above and drag the hot air from the valves out to the side of the equipment. At the back would be better, if you can. It wasn’t practical in my case. Normally these fans would be mounted in a more solid cabinet. I just used 1 piece of 26mm by 17mm by 600mm cut for 2 sides and 2 widths to make a clamp over the shelf. Wood-stained the frame and used 4 metal angle brackets and some screws. The thermostat controller has a wired temperature sensor that can be placed wherever you want to test. I attached it to the shelf above with Blu-tak (the hi-fi owners friend) so it reads the temperature right above the valves. The controller is powered by the supplied transformer plug. This is a US product but I got in the UK with a UK 3-pin plug. The controller has a number of modes, including setting the fans to 3 different speeds all of the time, or what they call smart mode. This is what I use. I selected 35 degrees Celsius as the temperature I want it to try not go over. If the temperature gets to that, it will run the fans at full tilt. 2 degrees below that and the fans go to mid-power to keep the noise down, and 3 degrees below the fans spin up to low speed. Below that and the fans stop, which means there’s no noise and no wasted power. The controller displays in Celsius or Fahrenheit, by the way. There is also a spare USB socket to run another single or pair of fans, which you can buy separately, and they will all be controlled from the one controller unit. I currently run a USB desk fan from this in order to push the air away on the other side. I also screwed the controller to a couple of short bits of wood (same as the frame, above) to make a stand, where again it might be built into a cabinet. In the cooler months the fans can keep the temperature at 35 degrees, but with a summer ambient temperature in the room of 28 degrees C it tops out nearer 40 degrees C. The controller does have an alarm if the temperature gets too high, I think it flashes the backlight of the display. I’ve not seen that happen. Normally the controller displays the actual temperature of the sensor and the threshold that has been set, in smart mode. There are only a couple of buttons on the front of the controller that you need to use to set up your preferred mode and temperature, after that it’s hands-off.I’m very pleased with this unit. The finish and build quality appear good, and it should last me 30 years. It’s an expandable system and the fans run pretty quietly.

Great for keeping a media cabinet cool – if you’re brave!
Super, super, super media cabinet upgrade. My cabinet was running a little hot, having recently changed my amp.It was with my heart in my mouth that I cut into my faithful old pine cabinet; one hole for the fan unit, another for the controller. The kit comes with templates to simplify marking up prior to cutting (decent jigsaw recommended).Totally worth it. I have it in auto mode and since installation, the temperature inside the unit has been cooler and much more stable. The fan has several speeds, which can automatically adjust according to the variance from your target temperature. For me, the pair of fans is rarely running even at half speed and this is enough to keep the cabinet at a sensible temperature. The unit is fairly quiet, but that does depend on the speed at which the fans are running. We notice it a bit when the fans start up, but it’s barely a whisper at the lower levels. Certainly not enough to impinge on whatever we may be listening to.I’ve had the fans in situ for around a month and the kit is doing the job well, including through our current heatwave! Thoroughly recommended.

Stunning looking, quality feel, easy to use. Brilliant bit of kit!
I love it! I didnât expect so much heat when I created my media cabinet. At first I bought a smaller fan from AC Infinity which was beautiful and worked well. However as the cabinet filled up it needed more cooling and this larger fan, with the controller, was ideal. This new set âdaisy-chainedâ with the smaller fan seamlessly. The fan is quiet enough, and is generally drowned out whenever any of the electrical gear is running anyway. It is simple enough to use, itâs easy to fit (helped by the stencil), very effective at cooling, and especially beautiful. What more could you want?!The only downside is the controller is too precise ie. there is no buffer when the controller hits the set temperature. So this means that it can go on and off several times a minute for only seconds at a time. Itâs easily solved by reducing the temp to below what can be reached, or taking it off auto. The only thing stopping it being perfect for me.

Looks smart, works great, but wrong plug
TLDR: this is a lovely bit of kit, looks really top-notch, easy to fit, but it came with a US plug.—I ordered this along with some nice metal vents to provide cooling for our media cabinet. It arrived quickly but unfortunately it had a US plug instead of a UK one, so I couldn’t use it. The product page states it has a UK plug so this was frustrating.I contacted the seller and they sent a travel adapter which I was not happy with – the plug was sticking way out and the connection of 2-pin US plugs is not very secure, I was worried about it coming halfway out and something touching the metal contacts. In the end they told me to order a suitable UK power supply and they refunded me, so the problem is resolved but it took a few weeks. (FYI this one is perfect – “MEROM 6V 2A Universal Power Adapter Supply with 8 Tips Compatible with Omron Blood Pressure, Baby Monitor, Bush Wooden DAB, Sony XDR-S55 XDRS55”)Now I finally have it working I’m very happy with it, it’s sturdy and well made, it looks smart. If the fans are on high speed they are audible in a quiet room but not when you have the TV on (I supposed it depends how close you are to them). It’s expandable too, if you need more cooling you can add extra fans (either daisy-chain to the existing fan, or plug into the second USB port on the controller). You could totally build something with similar functionality for less money, but the quality of finish you get with this and the convenience is well worth the money IMO.

Upgraded my under-desk computer system, and it was getting warm under there. This had always been a minor problem in the past, but upgraded CPU and a massive GPU required a way to get the heat the computer was successfully exhausting under the desk, to somewhere else as fast as possible.Just remember that you will absolutely need to cut a hole in the installation surface, at least for the fan. I’m actually 3D designing and printing a simple enclosure for the controller, so it can sit on my desk. It’s perfect!I’m very good at tech, but I am not exceptionally handy. Cutting the hole in the back of my desk was a pain. But it was so worth it! With the computer up and idling, I’m seeing a 3-5°C difference with the system in smart mode. Anything below…75°F?…and the fans are off. Automatically! Out of the box, it’s set to be at max fans when you reach 85°F, which is perfect for my application. By the time the computer is running hot, the AC Infinity fan system is already in full gear at 100% fans. When the fans are at 100%, because I reversed them (exhaust versus intake), they are a little louder than when they’re in the factory stock position (intake). But it’s on-par with the 10 fans inside of my PC, so we’re good. If they ever release an upgrade to this system, which has more powerful and quieter fans, I’ll probably do that. But for now? Perfect!Once I got the fans installed in the desk, and the cables routed where I needed them to be, the system simply “just works.”You can set it to Alarm, which is probably fine, but I prefer Smart mode. I do wonder if Alarm is basically Smart but with the Alarm enabled. Might be nice to have a “top end” temperature I can set, where it beeps or something. But I don’t want to give up the Smart mode where they turn off.The packaging was awesome, with serial numbers on the outside of the box, so I don’t have to remove the installed fan to get the serial number if I ever need it. Everything arrived in perfect condition, with a plastic cover for the controller screen, a fantastic manual, and AWESOME plastic templates for both the controller and the fan unit itself. Made drawing the hole on the desk as easy as tape and a magic marker.I’m VERY picky about the things that I buy, and I have to say that this is like the iPhone of the exhaust fan world. Solid metal fronts, high density plastic backs, and cables that are the perfect length for most applications. I can’t imagine a better fan solution for what I needed it for. And, as fans die eventually (did I mention it has dual-bearing fans, which are rated for 67,000 hours!?), I can’t wait to eventually buy the next generation of fan system from this company. If you need a way to move air, at 104 CFM, from one place to another, inside a cabinet, or under a desk, as long as you can cut a hole, this is the product for you!
