The adapter fits my iPhone 12 Lightning socket perfectly with no snagging against the sides of the case.The chain attached to the adapter is great because although it’s fairly delicate and, I think, would break fairly easily it does allow thy adapter to be attached to a key ring. There’s an anchor point on the adapter so that a more robust chain could be attached.There’s no protective cap for the lighting end of the plug. My experience is that Lightning plugs seem to fail even with normal and careful use. I have a Lightning plug protective cover and will use it with the adapter.The adapter is though excellent in use. The charging speed is excellent and the functionality is brilliant.I can use USB microphones and USB headphone processors. There’s a fairly limited range of USB devices, aside from memory sticks, that will work. Webcams won’t be detected for example but this is a limitation of the iPhone and not the adapter.It’s a simple case of plugging the adapter in and it’s ready to use. It’s best to plug the USB device into the adapter before plugging the adapter into the iPhone because the iPhone to adapter connection isn’t sturdy enough to manage the force of plugging in the the USB device.It’s great value for money. The inevitable loss of the adapter – even with the key chain – means that unfortunately I’ll probably need to buy another one. It is a great product and I think, even just given the sound quality benefits of being able to use a headphone processor, an essential item.

Simple to use and does the job
Have an iphone with the old USB and it’s a pain sometimes. Simple to use and perfect as an adapter to help me use the USB C connectors that are so common. Very happy with this and good value for money.
