Easily the best camera for the price. Great quality footage, decent battery life and quick to use.
So I haven’t long had my camera so I haven’t given it a proper thrashing yet. But, so far so good with it. And I reckon you wont find better for the price.1) IMAGE QUALITY: The video and picture quality is pretty impressive. It is also true 4k quality at 30fps meaning it actually records in 4k, unlike slightly lower priced so called “4k” cameras like Apeman which record in 1080p and then digitally enhance to 4k which doesn’t work to well when you go faster than walking. The image stabilization is also very impressive. I bought this because I ride a motorbike and do packrafting so I was expecting loads of lag and frame jumps, but it actually does really well in providing a stable smooth image. Again, you wont get go-pro perfect quality, the same way you wont get ferarri speed and build quality with an Audi. But like with Audi you still get really good quality. Its still very impressive videos, perfect for vloggers, youtube artists or people like me just starting out and want to record their advenutres. Oh and you can attach an external mic, but not when the waterproof case is on.2) BUILD: A few reviews seem to suggest that it feels light weight and plasticy but I disagree. Firstly you don’t want it to be heavy!! Secondly it’s actually not a bad feel, yes plasticy but it is made out of injection moulded plastic, and still seems sturdy. Plus it comes with the protective waterproof case, which not only makes it waterproof but also adds an addtional layer of protect. And the advantage is the waterproof case doesn’t add much on to the size either. Also bare in mind it is not waterproof or considered splashproof without the case so unless you live somewhere it doesn’t rain (im in the North of the UK so it does…. A lot!) then i’d advise basically leaving it in the case.3)BATTERY: The battery life is decent, between 60-90mins per battery (it comes with 2), depending on what settings you are using (same with any action camera). Mine usually lasts around the 90 minute mark as I make sure things like voice command, wifi and other things are turned off. Plus buying addtional batteries are cheap enough and they are nice, small and easy to store.4)ACCESSORIES: it comes with loads of accessories, most for attaching to things like bike handlebars, helmets etc, but it also inclduing a handy wrist handy remote with large enough buttons that, for example you are wearing motorbike gloves, they are easy to push when you want to start and stop a video or photo. And if like me you have your camera on the front of your packraft then you dont need to climb over to start and stop it. As mentioned it also comes with the waterproof case, and a spare door for it just in case.5)DOWNSIDES: In all honesty there are almost none. Yes they could have provided 60fps in 4k, but this would have most likely involved production cost increase resulting in a price increase. The same can be said if they’d put thin protective rubber coating to make it feel nicer or made it IP67 without the case. However my only 2 gripes, is the battery door hinge feels a little flimsy. When it is closed it is fine, but you wouldn’t want to knock or drop it when the door is open as it feels like it would easily snap the door off. So just be careful when changing batteries. Also I damaged my waterproof case (sadly not something the spare door could fix), and finding a replacement for the brave 6 pro seems to be proving very difficult. However I emailed AKASO and they are trying to source me a replacement. Most other action cameras have stolen the gopro design so you can use the gopro case. Where as the brave 6 pro has a different button configuration so the replacment case can be hard to find since you can only use a specific brave 6 pro one. This is definetly a problem for me since I go near water a lot.

Good for the price but spend a bit more money to buy a lot better!
I bought the Akaso Brave 6 Plus around Black Friday and paid £95 with a discount (usually £120) but had to buy the 64gb micro SD card separately for about £10After lots of video reviews online comparing âbudget action camerasâ the Akaso Brave 6 Plus seemed the best option for quality/priceMy first thing Iâll say is DO NOT CHANGE TO LESS THAN 4K30fps video!!! As soon as you drop that video quality, you may as well be filming on a vegetable. The 4K30fps with image stabilisation ON is pretty good and more than adequate for just capturing memories on holiday etc to look back on afterwards. The inbuilt microphone is good enough too so Iâd rate the video quality 7.5/10As for the still image camera that is apparently 20 megapixels, Iâd just take still images on your phone if you have something like the iPhone 11 or newer as the Akaso definitely isnât up to standardAnother pro is how easy the camera is to use and the battery lasts a decent amount of time. You get two batteries in the box so can take a spare with you if you plan for longer filming. You get a lot of attachments in the box which you donât get with the bigger brands like DJI and GoPro but at the end of the day, you arenât buying a camera because you like a remote control wrist strap. My overall rating would be a 7/10 but with this being £120, Iâd suggest spending a little bit more money for the new GoPro 4k 2024 at £180 or the DJI Osmo action 4 that is currently £199 if you are wanting a lot better image and video quality

A competent action camera thatâs remarkably good value.
This was bought mostly to be used as a rear facing bicycle camera. I already had a GoPro Hero 9 Black used front mounted, which on the face of it costs about 3 times as much. Taking into account that the Akaso comes as part of a comprehensive kit, and the GoPro is sold as a basic camera that most users would need to buy extras for, the Gopro is actually about 4 times as expensive. It would not be fair therefore to expect the same quality and performance from the Akaso, but the temptation to compare exists. This Akaso is small, feels good quality, well designed and solid construction. Itâs very flexible to use for almost any scenario with the wealth of clamps and waterproof case, all supplied. Even the waterproof case looks small and neat compared to some offerings. The camera cannot fit directly to any of the clamps, but the very neat Clip 2 securely adds a top and a base ¼â tripod boss. One minor drawback is that the camera needs to be unclipped to replace the battery, but thatâs quite easy to do; no tools required. The menu with the touch screen and switches are easy to become familiar with, and thereâs a good range of both video and photo quality including image stabilisation. Best is full HD +4K video at 30fps, 20 MP photos. The high end of both is very good, daylight videos and photos are excellent. Night videos are quite good and to have a bit better you would have to pay a lot more. Battery life is good after the initial couple of charges, over an hour is quite possible making video at the best quality, and with 2 batteries and twin charger supplied, many users wonât need extra batteries, although they are availa ble.Surprisingly at this price point, a remote control is supplied and thereâs also voice control! Both perform well. WiFi and an app can be used for set up and other features. I would have liked to have seen a key supplied to tighten the thumbscrews. The GoPro key fits, but that is an expensive extra. If Akaso make a key I would advise using it for solid mounting. The only other extra I would consider adding to this comprehensive kit would be the external microphone for webcam use. For general use the internal mic gives adequate audio quality. My first camera was a GoPro, bought due to itâs reputation. The Akaso was bought as a second camera and I wanted much lower cost and didnât expect top performance or quality. Th Akaso 6 plus kit far exceeded my expectations in almost every respect. I think itâs a great camera regardless of price. With the benefit of hindsight, Iâd have this Akaso front and rear mounted; wouldnât buy the âmarket leaderâ.I score this 5 stars for both value and ease of use. For performance and quality, 4½. Overall it punches well above itâs weight.

Akaso really listened to their customers when designing the Brave 6- they addressed what were mostly minor flaws in a great little camera, which I will run thru later, to bring their product to the next level. The new Brave 6, as did the Brave 4, takes stunning video in all modes, the 4k really shines tho I use it (as well as I did the Brave 4) mainly on the lower settings as the majority of the tv’s and monitors I use regularly are not 4K so I prefer to save space on the microSD cards by allowing it to create smaller files for the same length of video. It makes a great dash/motorcycle camera, which is my main use, especially with its ‘Driving Mode where turns itself on and off when plugged into a key switched power source and records all day using the USB input for power without needing to swap batteries every 45 minutes to an hour. You can set it for loop recording or to shut off when the card is full, I usually set mine to loop with it filling the 64gb card after about 8 hours of recording time on its medium setting. With its image stabilization it takes very smooth video even in the rough and bouncing cab of the Frieghtliner Cascadia I drive for a living, making the ride over the rough bridges and tunnels around Hampton, Va appear calm and boring. The included remote control works well and is handing when recording situations where you want to set the camera in a spot that doesn’t allow fast access- such as recording video (or taking pictures) with the camera shooting from above or from down low. Set your camera(s) for your shot, then start and stop recording without having to leave the area you are recording for retakes or breaks- I use this feature in my shop for recording projects and set the cameras in different locations around my work area. The new voice control feature works, but isn’t really useful for me due to background noises when working. Some reviewers have mentioned issues with the new app for the Akaso line- I haven’t used it as the Brave 6 will function fine with the older CamKing App the Brave 4 uses and I don’t need or want two seperate apps on my phone to do the same thing. maybe one day i will try the newer one myself and use which ever works best. The Brave 6 (shown in between my GoPro Hero 2014 and my older Akaso Brave 4) has a much more solid feel to it than the Brave 4 does. Gone is the LED screen on the front, replaced with a simpler ring light to show you when the camera is running. While I never felt the LED screen was needed and don’t miss it, I would like the ability to turn off the ring light so that it doesn’t give away the camera when filming with multiple cameras (it may turn off, if so I haven’t found the option yet). The Brave 4, while it has held up great, always felt slightly “cheap” and its MicroSD slot was difficult to remove the card from and was exposed to dirt and dust along with the USB and HDMI ports. With the Brave 6 they added a rubber sealing plug to cover the USB and HDMI ports and moved the card slot to behind the battery door, the hinged battery door itself being one of the major improvements on the Brave 6. It uses the same batteries as the Brave 4 did, so if you already have the older model you can share your extra batteries between the cameras (important to me).Overall I still feel that the Akaso action cameras are some of the best bang for your buck and will continue to use them, taking video that is truly impressive for an under $100 camera. Is it a GoPro Hero 7? No, but I can buy 3 to 5 of these for the same price!

As someone who is new into the league of action cameras, i couldn’t have asked for more.Firstly, the quality of the camera when compared to other action cameras available in the market is on a different level.Cost wise, i couldn’t have asked for anything better. Well within the budget. With all the accessories provided, its a really good deal.Looking forward to future adventures with this camera.

I loved this camera, as it suited my needs very well. It was quite easy to connect to devices, and was able to capture high resolution shots of both videos and photos. It came with 2 batteries, which lasted long. The user interface was very simple, and everything was well spaced. It also feels solid, like other cameras such as Go Pros. I believe that this product was well worth it for its low cost.
