Perfect
I was looking for a slim, lightweight cover for my new Kindle Fire, and this is exactly what this is. No fancy extras or weighty pockets. No pockets at all, which is fine. The device fits into it neatly and exactly. Perfect all round. (Mind you it’s only just now arrived so I don’t know what its lasting value is.)

A Cover To Match Your Kindle Fire 7? Why Not?
Okay, so I’m not the kind of girl (ahem…middle-aged woman) who goes in for a lot of pink stuff. But I really wanted to get another Kindle Fire on Black Friday, and by the time I got around to buying one, the only colour left was pink. I would have ideally preferred the black version, or even the khaki/moss green one. But I just figured I could always pick up a case for it that would help to protect the Fire sometime in future – possibly from one of those local stores that sell random stuff like computer chargers, imported US energy drinks, and a large range of vape rigs and vape juice and weird stuff designed to look like – whilst not being truly criminal – big named brands. (Y’al know exactly what I mean, lol!)However, when I saw that the “official” case intended for this model (of course they always make the newer models in ever so slightly different sizes, so you can’t just reuse your old ones) was also half-price during the Black Friday promotions. I had a look around for anything else that might do an adequate job, but to no avail. Hence my purchasing a pink cover to house the new Kindle Fire which is also in that exact shade of pink.Like I said, I’m not really a pink girly, and this combo makes me look like I’m vying for a part in ‘Mean Girls’, ‘Legally Blond’, or the ‘Barbie’ movie. But it doesn’t really matter. It’s the fact that the case protects this Kindle Fire really well, and does that thing where it turns itself on and off when you open or close the case. The only minor niggle is that supposed function in which the front of the case will just bend at a certain angle and stay there, allowing me to read or watch, hands-free. I’ve only played around with it briefly, but it doesn’t feel as though it will be an easy or simple task to get this to work. I’m a little concerned that if I use a lot of force to bend the cover along the diagonal score on the front, it might end up warping the way it sits when closed and therefore not protect what’s inside. No matter though. It’s easy enough for me to read with cover still on and if I really feel the need to stand it up to watch something, I can easily find a way to prop it up. Is it the most convenient cover in the world? No. But it does feel more substantial and of better quality than the cheaper ones I purchased for my other two Kindle Fires. The price for this item now (as of December 10th, 2024) is £30.99. I got it for £14.99 in the Black Friday sale and whilst it works fine just as a protective case that I keep closed, I do think that all that bending the cover will stop it from lying flat when closed.I definitely don’t think that it’s worth the regular price, but £14.99 was a good buy; as was the Kindle Fire I also bought on Black Friday for £39.99. I’m not someone who gets insanely excited about Black Friday. I hate any form of shopping and try to minimise the number of times I need to go get groceries. But I’ve obtained all 3 of my Kindle Fires on Black Friday because it just makes more sense. (I’ll probably stick a mini SanDisk onto it too so I can use the camera function and have somewhere I can store the pictures.)This model feels lighter than my other 2 Fires, which is good for me and my arthritic hands. It’s simple to navigate with a few apps already installed (bit annoying that we can’t get rid of them) and I’ve added Pinterest for those moments when I need inspiration (by which I mean time spent too exhausted to do anything other than sort cute pictures of cats and corvids into folders, never to be looked at again), and Instagram (so I can follow a few YouTube creators and chat with my brother in the DMs). My original idea was to wipe my Kindle Keyboard back to factory settings and then only use it to house classics, before making one Fire for fiction and another for non-fiction. The new one with this pink case will probably end up being my Fiction Fire, because I tend to only read fiction when I’m out and about and this case will definitely help me to protect it.So, to (almost) conclude, this case fits the Kindle Fire 7 perfectly. The device clicks into place with a very satisfactory “click” and whilst I’m not all that excited about the colour (I would have gotten it all in black if possible, but in the end just had to buy what was available. And I’m not mad at the colour.) The cover will turn your device on and off as you open and close it, which is a nice little extra thing that all my covers also do. It feels comfortable in my hands too – the material isn’t all slick and shiny, so it doesn’t end up all covered in fingerprints and dust or whatever.Would I recommend this case? Um….kind of. I got it at a good price so that was a bonus that helped me decide to buy it. Would I buy it at its full price? I don’t know. I’ll have to see how well this once holds up between now and the next Black Friday in 2025. It feels sturdy and nice against my fingers as I hold it. So maybe it will end up being something I really enjoy/appreciate and end up buying again, so I can stash it away for a later time, once this one has started to see better days. And if you’re in no position to purchase a separate cover right now, you can always keep your Kindle Fire in the little plastic sleeve it arrived in. It’ll be a bit awkward but at least it’ll be waterproof and safe from anything else you have in your handbag or luggage. Now I just need to go and put little black, sticky dots on each of the camera lenses, along with a secondary strip of washi tape, because I do not trust any of my devices not to spy on both me and each other (it’s a big concerning when you boot up your laptop only to find that your fridge and your washing machine are trying to talk to both your phone and your laptop. Message to the outgoing POTUS & his administration? Could y’all please just stop spying on us and giving the CIA a bunch of codes and instructions on how get all the information that people all around the world have entered into their phones for the past 10 years? Please?) I’ll just have to remember to peel them off when I go to use one of the cameras, or else I’ll end up being THAT chick who takes it into a store to have it looked at, thinking the cameras don’t work, only to have the two dudes behind the counter look at each other like I’m the stupidest person they’ve ever met, before making a big show of peeling said little sticky off in front of me, before I thank them through gritted teeth and try to walk out of the store as calmly and as with as much dignity as possible. So, yeah. The case is nice and fits the Kindle Fire 7 really well. Getting it for £14.99 felt reasonable, and it arrived really quickly. I know I’ll put it through its paces and use it quite frequently, so if there’s any change to my opinion later on in the year, I’ll add an update. But for now, I have to go through the arduous cask of sorting out my fiction from non-fiction and the classis. It’ll be a bit of a pain in the rear, but it’ll be worth it in the end.

Great tablet alternative
I had this as a xmas gift. Itâs a nice size for travel with. Itâs a little slow sometimes and took a bit of researching to download WhatsApp equivalent. I have managed to pair with my phone for messenger, Facebook, etc. Great alternative as bigger than on mobile and better value than big name brands
