Great drone but more suited to indoor use
I had the opportunity to review this as part of the Amazon Vine program :)This little Aolwaco mini drone is actually a good bit of fun if youâve got kids who want to mess about with flying toys indoors (or you just fancy a go yourself â no judgement). Itâs small and lightweight, so youâre not going to break the telly or take someoneâs head off if you crash it, and it comes with three batteries which is a lifesaver because the flight time on each one isnât massive (standard for these little drones). You get a decent amount of flying before you need to swap them out, so youâre not constantly waiting for a recharge.The LED lights are actually pretty bright and look great in a dim room â makes it a lot easier to spot when it inevitably ends up under the sofa. Itâs got all the usual features: 360° flips (which the kids absolutely loved), headless mode so you donât have to worry about which way itâs facing, altitude hold so it hovers without you fighting the controls, and three different speed settings if you want to make things a bit more lively. The drone itself is made from tough plastic, so itâs survived a few crashes into walls and furniture without any drama, and you get spare blades in the box just in case.Controls are simple enough for beginners or kids to get the hang of pretty quickly, and itâs light enough that you can fly it indoors without worrying about it doing any real damage. Itâs not going to win any awards for battery life or range, but for zipping around the living room or having a laugh with the kids, itâs spot on. Donât expect it to handle wind or outdoor flying very well â itâs definitely more of an indoor toy.If you want something cheap and cheerful to keep the kids entertained (or just want to have a bit of fun yourself), this is a good shout. These little dropnes are amazing!
After buying a quad copter/drone from another retail store my 6 year old just could not get the hang of flying it and neither could I. It was so difficult to control and it literally crashed and broke within 10 minutes. With that disappointment I turned to Amazon and found this Aolawco Mini Drone – it is a total game changer. SO easy to control, take off, land, manouver, do flips etc etc and is made really well its very difficult to crash and break. Also comes with 3 rechargeable batteries for the drone which means a good amount of air time!!!! So we have two of these things buzzing around the house and we’re having so much fun. Perfect!!!!! Would highly recommend!

Aolawco Mini Drone
This product was sent to me for review as part of the Amazon Vine program. The following reflects my real-world experience using it.In terms of build quality, it appears to have been well-made; though the body is very lightweight, it is robust – I have flown the drone (and crashed it!) a lot, with no damage experienced whatsoever. The propeller guards do an excellent job of making sure that it ‘bumps’ gently off of any wall etc., without becoming stuck. Its compact size also makes it an ideal first choice for a child/novice pilot.I must admit that I found the included instructions a little overwhelming, and not helpful in some areas, which made it more difficult to understand how to control the device. Though I was able to make it fly up, it seemed to just shoot off in any random direction, and I wasn’t able to use the joysticks to turn it at all. Of course, it may well be the case that it takes practice to get it right, but I feel that the controls should be more user-friendly, especially for beginners.Thus far, I would say that the battery life is good (each one tends to last for 5-10 minutes), and the fact that there are 3 in the box is super handy. It’s convenient to recharge each one with the included USB cable, as well.In summary, a fairly good value item.
