I was looking for a small shelf for my new FireTV Cube that I could mount outboard in my home theater 19-inch rack cabinet. Since the rack is pretty full, I needed the outboard shelf to ensure the microphones on top of the cube were not obstructed, for proper voice control. As you can see from the photos, I mounted the shelf to a rack-mount blanking plate (drilled and tapped for std. rack screws), which made for a very clean install.I looked at the various options and even ordered an acrylic version at the same time to compare, but found this Aluminum unit to be more robust and fabricated very nicely. As mentioned by other reviewers the pass-through hole for any cables is rather small but will accommodate most smaller connectors (micro-USB and USB-C, or similar).Overall I am very happy with this shelf integrated to the rack (and Alexa voice control works great)!
