Makes Aqara Matter devices stable!!! Buy it!
I have an Aqara U200 Door Lock and an Aqara P2 Window and Door Sensor in our home. These were connected and controlled via Matter using Google Home Hubs as Thread Border Routers. The problem is the connection kept dropping meaning the automation set up in Google Home app wouldn’t work and the door would auto lock on closure.I didn’t want to pay £130 for an M3 hub but when this M100 was released at £29.99 I figured it was worth a punt.I’ve now deleted both the U200 and P2 from the Google Home and the Aqara app and then added them back to the Aqara app again. I’ve made the M100 the matter controller for the U200 and then added them back to Google Home. Note that the M100 joined the existing Google nest thread network.Now I’ve set the auto lock automation up in the Aqara app instead.Since doing the above both the U200 and the P2 have maintained a stable connection over Matter and are always accessible in both Google Home and Aqara. In short it’s done everything I hoped it would. Highly recommended!!

Questionable Zigbee
I don’t own any other Aqara kit but had issues connecting to many of my zigbee devices. It works well for some bits but not others. That could well be me. The hub was easy enough to setup and add though.It’s still early days with this but so far so good.

very useful addition to smart home ecosystem
I’ll admit I’m still learning about the threads based smart home tech but this thread border router is a great way to expand your zigbee and matter network of devices so you can talk to devices further away.I like that it can be used in any powered usb socket and allows for convenient placement in the spot where it’s needed.at £20 it’s great value and really handy for improving the connectivity of your matter devices.I found since adding it that things felt much more responsive when triggering or receiving instructions and i was getting noticeably fewer “failed” actions where i’d have to repeat it to get it to do what I wanted it to.

Things to improve for sure and fast!
Zigbee devices disconnect despite being positioned adjacent to the hub. In contrast, Hub E1 devices were remarkably stable. The signal strength maxing out at 255 for every device seems abnormal. Hub migration is not backward compatible, so you can’t restore previous setup easily. Constant resets are needed. The limitation of only 20 Zigbee child devices is problematic. These issues clearly require attention and improvement. With the current state, it is not possible to rely on it!

Top. Un petit hub pas cher pour permettre d’accéder via matter à la serrure Aqara U200 (ou tout autre objet Aqara) à distance, puis permettre l’intégration dans Home Assistant. Bien moins cher qu’un hub Aqara M3, et largement suffisant me concernant, gérant toute ma domotique au travers de Home Assistant

I bought this item to be able to use my U50 lock with both HomeKit and Home Assistant, without losing access to features like the home key in the Apple Wallet app. The documentation does not specifically state that it works with the locks, like the other hubs do. I am pleased to report this works great with my Aqara U50 lock. The setup was a little finicky but I attribute that to my unique setup. Great buy!

I’ve been using this for a few days now and I’m honestly impressed. It’s simple, works just like it should, and feels pretty sturdy. I wasn’t sure if I’d actually need it at first, but it turned out to be really handy. Shipping was fast too. Would definitely recommend!
