Disappointing cameras with poor AI feature
I have been using the cameras for about six months now. In comparison to the previous Nest cameras I was using these ones donât come close.1. The AI regularly mistakes a plant or tree branch moving in light wind as a person or vehicle.2. Battery life is poor so needs more frequent charging.3. No person recognition, ie ignoring alerts for people you know. Instead if I wash the car or do some gardening I now turn off the cameras to stop hundreds of alerts.Sadly I would not buy these again. Overall Iâm super disappointed with them given the cost (plus annual fee) and poorly developed AI features.

Excellent Security Cameras
This kit came with all the necessary instructions to set it up easily. There is an Arlo Hub that connects to your router with a short cable. Each of the cameras connects wirelessly to that hub. We located the cameras around our property and although we did have to re-site our router to ensure all the cameras could âseeâ the hub it didnât take very long to get good signals from each camera. Each of the batteries with the kit did have some charge in them so we were âup and runningâ on day one. Shortly after the installation we bought two additional batteries and a double charging unit. So far, the batteries have lost about one third of their charge in 7 weeks since the last full charge. We have now set up an account with Arlo and pay the monthly subscription. The quality of the video is superb. In daylight you can zoom in to an amazing level of detail. At night the lights on the cameras are activated and the short video with this review shows our front garden with one of our nightly visitors â Mr Fox. The microphone on the cameras also works well and we have used it to speak to delivery people while we were out of the country.

Save My Subscription Fee in the Long Run
A bit tricky to set up at the beginning. Overall it can save my monthly subscription fee in the long run.

Great Potential, but Connectivity and App Issues Hinder Usability
I’ve been using the Arlo Certified Accessory SmartHub Add-On Unit with MicroSD Card Local Storage for some time now, and while it has its advantages, there are a few notable drawbacks in terms of utility and design.Hub Connectivity Issues:One major limitation is that the cameras must connect directly to the hub, not via WiFi. This makes the hub’s location a critical factor. If a camera is placed too far from the hub, it frequently disconnects.I have one camera that requires reconnection several times a week due to its distance from the hub.Buggy App Design:The app could use significant improvement. For instance, the local sessions sometimes donât appear under the feed tab.To view stored videos, you must navigate to the hub device page when this happen, which feels counterintuitive.Additionally, there is no video preview available on the appâyou need to download the video to your phone first to view it.Another frustrating limitation is that once downloaded, there is no way to delete the video from your mobile phone storage directly from the app; the only option is to uninstall and reinstall the app to remove it.While the local storage feature and seamless integration with Arlo cameras are positives, these usability issues significantly detract from the overall experience. If youâre considering this device, be aware of these potential inconveniences.

Excellent
Ive had Arlo cameras for a while now. I decided to upgrade to their newest version. Although they are expensive I found the quality extremely good. The Picture quality has improved massively since their earlier versions. The tracking feature is very handy, as it tracks a person and zooms in on them automatically. The only drawback is the battery life, Arlo make big claims, but I found with the most common settings turned on, the battery drains a lot quicker than expected. I also bought separate batteries and charger this allows quick battery changes when needed. I would buy again.

Avoid like the plague
The most unreliable and unsafe cctv system. Since installing Iâve had nothing but issues. Activations are not always recorded. Come home today. Even danced in front of camerasâ¦. No activations or recordings. Wtf?!?! Worst still when you do get an activations recordings are just awful even at 4k struggle to see faces. Or it just captures a green screen! Thats if you can even get into the app. Instead of spending this much money itâs cheaper to install wired cameras that are more reliable! Did I mention I pay extra up to 30£ a month for the added subscriptions and continuous recording on one camera⦠which has constant missing footage all the time. Itâs been nearly 10 years now since they introduced CVR itâs still as useless as when they first introduced it to the market.
