Customers say
Customers find the security camera’s daytime performance excellent, with superb picture quality and clear views. The setup process is straightforward, and the functionality receives mixed reviews – while some say it works reliably, others find it barely functional. Battery life is a concern as the batteries only last a month, and customers disagree on the night vision capabilities. The motion detection feature also gets mixed feedback, with some praising its effectiveness while others report it’s not always catching movements. Value for money is mixed, with some considering it good for the price while others find it overpriced for three cameras.

Time lapse and notifications awful – but wait!
It’s good, very good. Easy to install and setup. No cables and wires.I’ve put a 8gb memory stick in mine and can reject it and watchvideos on the main PC.Very concerned about the time-lapse though. Was expecting a package fromAmazon on Tuesday 27 October 2020, heard a van door go and it was withinmy delivery slots. Switched the camera on and observed the man getting out hisvan. Suddenly there was a knock on the door? I was still watching him walkto my front door time-lapse was more than 10 seconds. A notification then wasmade on my iPhone?Amazon really need to get this sorted, not good enough. In this day andage it renders the ‘talk to’ useless? By time, you’ve connected to the phoneand got the camera on (15 seconds after the event) they’ve gone… so what’sthe point??I’ve marked it down to 3 stars because of this. My rear garden camera has a timelapse of around a second which beats this hands down.If Amazon can get the time delay sorted it will be a fantastic bit of kitbut at the moment perhaps other cameras would be better?UPDATE: 8th December 2020.I obtained another camera about 2 weeks ago and placed this at the rear of the house. Having 2 camerasimproved performance greatly. A quick change in settings to activating ‘early’ motion and time was down to almost 6 seconds from notification to seeing who was at the door.Really pleased now, an extra camera does help! Thoroughly recommend this product and get 2 cameras if you can!

Excellent on all counts. Good picture quality, very easy set up. Giving peace of mind when I’m not home.

Good for the price
The camera is Over all pretty good but please be aware it is not waterproof despite being advertised as an outdoor camera. I occasionally misses things, which I can only put down to the wifi maybe dropping off, the camera covers my front door so sometimes when something has been delivered, there’s no recording on the camera. But usually it picks up new movements within the range you set. There are better cameras put there but for the price I would recommended this one.You will also need to buy a subscription plan for it to record, which is £2.50 a month. Be warned, if you have 2 cameras you want to save recordings on, this jumps up to £8 a month but that also covers you for unlimited cameras. I only have 2 so I have one that records and one that I can view but not record on because I’m not paying 3x more for 2 cameras.

Reasonable price and good quality
The Blink camera give a good quality image but getting the triggering setup mastered can take a while. I moved them a couple of times so they would pick up traffic in my drive and still be in range of the sync module. The response time can be a little slow – Occasionally I get clips that show very little when I know there has been movement.Overall for the price and quality they are good value. I use a usb in the module for storage though deleting can be a bit of a pain.

Poor image quality, buggy, & short battery life
I purchased this camera (singe camera system) as a means to monitor the wildlife in my garden, however I have since tested it for security as well. Here is my breakdown of the pros and cons (if you canât be bothered to read on, in a nutshell my recommendation is this; these are absolute garbage and there are much better options out there so please look elsewhere):Pros⢠The majority of packaging was relatively plastic free (main plastic packaging was a peel off cover on the front of the camera).⢠Very easy to set up.⢠Not bad for monitoring wildlife close up (I mainly used it in a hedgehog house. But a trail camera is better).Cons⢠Cameras can be very slow to pick things up unless moving very slowly. Even my hedgehog on a slow snail finding stroll can be off the frame by the time the camera has started filming. Picking up a moving car is a no go, and even the postal worker was at my door by the time filming started.⢠My cameras have crashed a few times already and required the back removing to pop a battery out and back in again.⢠The footage is sometimes very stuttered and not smooth.⢠Night vision is absolutely abysmal unless the subject is about 8 inches away from the camera.⢠Day vision is equally awful, in fact the camera looks foggy or dark at times.⢠Trying to use it as a security device on my car/driveway was pointless. With the IR on low it was a sea of black, whilst set on medium/high all I got was glare.⢠Motion detection only seems to work in quite close range to the camera (even when set to high sensitivity).⢠You need to give Amazon even more money for this thing to be truly useful. Without it you are forced to pull out the memory stick and put it in a computer to get at your footage (I think Prime customers should at least have one camera free of subscription).⢠External power is via a micro USB and not the modern standard of USB type C.⢠Batteries do not last long. About a month is all you will get unless it rarely captures any footage.⢠On the subject of batteries you have to buy the same expensive ones that it comes with. Rechargeable ones or others on the market do not work without a constant low battery warning being displayed. Nice deal you have with Energiser there Blink!⢠The camera casing scratches really easily. Literally after putting it in my trouser pocket and walking to the end of my garden meant that it was scratched to bits.⢠The camera and its mount are very cheap plastic and not overly strong.⢠Limited range of movement on the included mount.⢠Easily disconnected from the mount and stolen in a matter of about 1 second (unless high out of reach, which then means the footage will be awful).⢠Quite limited range away from your Wi-Fi and the base unit.⢠Expensive for what you get (unless on sale).⢠Audio quality is atrocious. There is basically a strange squelching sound constantly like it is inside someoneâs chest next to their heart. If it is not doing this then it is making an ear piercing sound like an alarm/horror scream going off when played back.⢠When you raise anything but positive feedback to customer support they promptly ignore you and offer zero help or support.⢠My first camera lasted a couple of months before Blink replaced it telling me it had an internal hardware fault. The second one lasted a week before the image was so foggy it looks like the camera has cataracts.⢠Once out of the free trial subscription period you are completely unable to send video files, via messaging apps like iMessage or WhatsApp, unless you pay Blink a monthly subscription fee.⢠No thumbnail image of videos unless you pay Blink yet more cash for a monthly subscription (Tapo donât charge extra for this).

Good product and good technical support
The camera does exactly what it says in the description. I bought this to add to an existing system. I encountered a setup problem, which the Blink support team remotely and quickly fixed. It is very reassuring to know that a product has very good technical support, even without the optional subscription.
