Very impressed Wecams and astrophotography telescope control
Extremely well made, well shielded and strong. Had some reservations as 10m is double the USB2 5m max spec but the active repeater works well and is immediately recognised with Windows 8.1. As a test so far tried it with a USB3 Pen connected to USB2 and USB3 ports and it read/writes fine and streams from video on the pen drive without problems. Obviously the active repeater is USB2 chipset so speed is limited to USB2. Originally used with a waterproofed webcam for bottom of garden pond! Updated 2018 – Now using for astrophotography with Win 10 – had two of these cables but one went faulty (likely got snagged) so ordered another, have a go to mount, guidescope and DSLR camera all connected via a mini USB hub at the scope then connected to my laptop with this, I actually join the 2 cables to make 20M when needed – note that it generates a virtual com port, when you have two connected the com port number changes – really good quality & value

It Works – Amazed
As an inveterate fiddler and DIYer I’ve always tried to ensure that all the computer guff was hidden away in a cupboard with only a monitor and keyboard on show. Not only does that make for a cleaner desk it negates all noise. Unfortunately that also means USB can be a problem unless I want to go fiddling in a cupboard every time I want to plug in a camera or similar.So this time in my new house I needed an 8m USB cable to a USB3 port. I tried using bum basic extensions but frankly the distance was too great so I arrived at this cable.It’s well made, fairly thick and does the job perfectly. I now have USB3 at my desk discretely done. Happy chappie again.So, if you need a 10m USB extention then look no further. This works a treat.

Long, strong and fast.
We needed an extension cable to use for tethering a Canon camera to laptop during photobooth sessions. The length provides more than enough flexibility for the photographer to move around freely, and being well protected survived being kicked and trodden on. High resolution images transferred immediately to the laptop throughout a four hour session without any hiccups and has really streamlined our operation. Although it works fine on the laptop it doesn’t work when connected to the PC, but I haven’t investigated further as I don’t need it at home.

I didn’t expect this to work as well as it did
Plugging in a ps5 controller to play games from my pc on my TV in another room works great, no noticeable latency. However you might need a signal booster at the input because as soon as I use a usb splitter on the end of this to plug in an additional mouse and keyboard, the controller turns off. Unplugging the mouse and keyboard turns the controller back on, so potential bandwidth cap.

I bought this in the hope that I could run it as an extension cable for my new Amazon Echo Dot from a socket in the hallway to the bathroom. As the output is only 5v and the run was over 29 feet I was taking a gamble that the 5v wouldn’t drop so much over the 10 metres that the Echo Dot wouldn’t work and I am sure that in an inferior cable that would have been the case. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and robustness of the cable and the extra advantage of the booster all contributed to the outcome being positive. All in all for the measly sum of £9.99 this is what is called a “no brained” and you won’t be disappointed, especially if you use it for more conventional purposes.

Extending USB Cable on Web Cam
I bought this cable in order to extend the length of an old web cam usb cable. I am reusing it as a security cam. Thecable works well and produces a clear picture with no issues over data dropping or power. I had to push the web cam male connection quite hard into the female connection in order to connect them but it is now firmly housed with no danger of it falling out. The cable appears strong, flexible and well coated with an outer coat of plastic and inner of braiding.

An honest and experienced review
I have bought two of these now, and had one replaced. I bought the 10 metre length repeater cable made by BLUERIGGER from Amazon some years ago. I use it to attach and send data from a PC to my Epson 7880, and 9880 in another room. These are good quality cables, they do not look cheap like one particular review stated and they do work great…for the first couple of years. Now I admit that I have to put my cable away after every use and that is a real pain in the proverbial. Under the Lifetime Guarantee (itâs limited lifetime now) the company sent me another one no questions asked so I applaud them for that. However, after another two years of very light use, although remember I still have to put my cable away after each use (once every two weeks), the cable has failed again and I am getting data errors. I do use the same type of cable by the same company on another printer but that is still working, so fingers crossed. So I would sum up by saying this is an extremely good cable, but with a limited lifetime of around two to three years. It probably hasnât helped that I have to uncoil and then coil the cable each time after use, but just bear in mind that all these cables have a limited shelf life, but how long depends on your use of it. I have given three stars for my experience but four stars for value for money.

Despues de casi 4 meses de haberlo comprado funciona perfectamente. Por un lado lo tengo conectado a mi PC, y por el otro a otro cable de 5m que lleva finalmente a un switch USB. En total 15m y me detecta todo lo que pinche…llaves usb, teclado sin hilos, raton, discos externos…El envio fue rapido y correcto.

Per collegare una videocamera PlayStation Eye ad una PS3 in posizione remota è necessaria una prolunga USB che, in caso di distanze superiori ai 5 mt, deve essere di tipo attivo. Le prolunghe attive sono di due tipi: quelle con alimentazione esterna e quelle sprovviste di un tale espediente. A quest’ultima categoria appartiene la prolunga in questione che presenta quindi il vantaggio di un unico cavo di collegamento diretto. Alla prova dei fatti il segnale visualizzato è del tutto paragonabile a quello ottenibile collegando la Eye direttamente alla consolle. L’unico non trascurabile effetto collaterale è che occasionalmente si verifica una perdita di segnale della durata da qualche decimo di secondo a fino un secondo con visualizzazione della classica schermata grigia di rumore video. I tempi tra un disturbo e l’altro sono assolutamente variabili e la causa non è ancora stata individuata. Non ho ancora provato la Eye con dei giochi quindi al momento non saprei essere più preciso sulle conseguenze di un eventuale sistematico manifestarsi del problema. Per il resto il prodotto sembra ben costruito e il prezzo di circa 11 euro (primi novembre 2012) sembra onesto. Per gli installatori: la testa USB maschio passa nei tubi del 25, quella femmina non passa per poco in quelli del 32. La consegna in anticipo rispetto al previsto. La confezione nel classico cartone però non è molto “anti frustrazione”: il prodotto infatti è cinese, ordinato in Italia arriva dall’Inghilterra. Forse bisognerebbe essere più sensibili di fronte a questi inutili, dannosi e immensi giri che le merci fanno attorno al mondo.Aggiornamento della recensione.A distanza di qualche settimana ho avuto modo di verificare il comportamento della prolunga su un gioco (Wonderbook). Il disturbo (forse a suo tempo dovuto all’intermittenza di qualche fila di lucine natalizie o a qualche “momento di debolezza” della PS3) non si è più manifestato. Per questo motivo la mia valutazione passa dalle iniziali 3 stelle a cinque perché mi ha permesso di risolvere positivamente il problema di collegamento che avevo. Nel complesso quindi giudizio più che positivo.
