What is a Bosch Smart Home controller?
The controller is the heart of the Bosch Smart Home system. It links all your smart components with the app and coordinates all the devices in your system.
Can I use the Bosch Smart Home system without the controller?
With the exception of the cameras, Bosch Smart Home components cannot be used without the controller.
Where is my data stored?
Your personal data is stored on your Smart Home controller in your home. If you use remote access to your Smart Home, the data is transferred to your smartphone or tablet in encrypted form.

Not really designed to be an alarm
I had such high hopes for the Bosch smart home security system having researched loads of smart alarms and finding that we’re pretty lacking in options here in the UK.This was received from Amazon in really good time, as always, and was easy ish to set up. The instructions weren’t the most clear and lacked wording but a bit of common sense got everything installed pretty quickly.That is until I opened the package for the motion sensor which has a big split down the front of it!I was then in a quandary….do I return it or do I stick it out. The decision was made for me after I’d set up the door sensors, integrated them with the hub and did some testing. It honestly feels as though it’s not designed to be a home security system….it’s designed to be a smart home system made up of lots of smart thermostats and the like but Bosch spotted an opportunity to sell it as a security system too so that’s what they did.For example, when you trigger the alarm by opening a door with the system armed, it’s all a bit of a let down. The smoke detector acts as an internal sounder and makes some noise and the app flashes away but it just doesn’t feel robust enough to be a home security system… I’m not sure I would trust it to look after my home. It also doesn’t really integrate well with people who live there. You would need the app installed, operating and with an internet connection to be able to disarm it when you get home…and we all know how flaky apps and internet connections can be. I couldn’t find any other way of disarming the system….no pin code entry, no RFID tags etc so the day will come when the app doesn’t work and you’re simply too scared to open the front door!So that was it, decision made, everything got packaged back up and shipped back to Amazon for a refund. I’ll probably keep an eye out for the UK release of the expensive Nest Secure which is designed first and foremost to be an alarm.

Was quite decent until it stopped working and can’t get it going again.
Can be a bit of a pain to set up – but worked well for a few months. Suddenly stopped working. Took me a lot of trouble to get the controller reset and able to reconnnect to the network, but none of the devices will set up anymore (even after doing the – very limited and often unclear instructions for – factory resetting them all).Wish I’d gone for a cheaper and different set. End result is that I now only have a smoke alarm that works (the only thing that works on its own without smart functions).

Die Qualität der Produkte inklusive der Software(App) ist, wie von einem “deutschen” Produkt erwartungsgemäà wertig. Jegliches Montagematerial ist inkludiert. Allerdings sind die Schrauben gerade vom Rauchmelder nicht die Besten, aber das ist man ja gewohnt. Die vom Bewegungsmelder hingegen sind einwandfrei. Bis auf den Rauchsensor konnte ich alle Komponenten testen und funktionieren auch sofort. Anlernen war sehr einfach.Verbindung mit Philips Hue hat auch sehr einfach funktioniert und zumindest die Hue – Leuchten sind leicht anzusteuern und zu verwenden. Vorerst also von mir 5 Sterne! Werde aber gerade bei einem sicherheitsrelevanten Produkt nach längerer Nutzung nachlegen und ggf. korrigieren, falls es etwas zu beanstanden gibt.

Nach langem hin und her habe ich mich für dieses Smart Home Sicherheitspaket entschieden. Anfangs war ich sehr skeptisch über die Funktionalität. Jedoch bei einem Test würde ich des besseren belehrt und stimmte mich zufrieden, was mich dazu brachte das Ganze zu erweitern. Bestellt hatte ich für den Anfang das Starterset und 5 zusätzliche Fensterkontakte. Die Installation war sehr einfach und ging recht flott. Nach dem Test habe ich nun noch Bewegungsmelder, Rauchmelder und Steckdosen bestellt. Bin gespannt was der weitere Betrieb so bringt. Vorallem wenn ich jetzt mal ein Szenario programmiere.Bisher kann ich die schlechten Rezessionen nicht nachvollziehen, was Inbetriebnahme usw angeht.

Ich habe dieses Set für bereits den dritten Haushalt in der Familie erworben. Die ersten Beiden laufen bereits seit ca. 1,5 Jahren völlig Problemfrei. Eines der Sets wurde als Heizung-Starterset erworben (Ansich ja das gleiche System) und wird auch nur hierfür verwendet. Das andere wird aktuell mit zusätzlich 5 Heizungsreglern und 6 Fenstersensoren samt diverser Philips Hue Lampen genutz. Seit der Einrichtung nie Probleme gehabt. Alarme (hier meist Fehlalarme weil vergessen wurde am Taster den Alarm zu deaktivieren) werden zuverlässig auf mehrere Smartphones (Apple) durchgestellt. Hierzu der Tipp, den Bosch Wandtaster dazu zu kaufen. Auf diesem kann dann wunderbar z. B. eine Aktion Haus verlassen (Heizung herunter regeln, Alarm scharf stellen, Anwesenheitssimulation an usw.) und z. B. daheim ankommen gelegt werden. So braucht man das Smartphone quasi nie bemühen. Einzig der Drehtaster mit dem ePaper Display sowie die Kameras empfinde ich defintiv als zu teuer. Sollten diese Gerätschaften mal zu vernünftigeren Preisen verfügbar sein, gerne… aber aktuell einfach zu teuer. Tipp noch für Januar 2020. Auf der Bosch Homepage kann ein 100⬠Gutschein angefordert werden, wenn bis zum 31.01.2020 ein Starterset z. B. hier auf Amazon erworben und dort eingereicht wird. So kann z. B. über den Bosch-Shop noch ein Thermostat und ein Fenstersensor quasi geschenkt dazu bekommen. Hauptgrund für die damalige Kaufentscheidung der ersten beiden Systeme, dass hier das Thema Datenschutz groà geschrieben wird.

Nachdem sich die Meldungen über Wohnungseinbrüche ja häufen habe ich dieses Set gekauft.Im Set ist zum einen die Bridge die alles miteinander verbindet und Cloudfähig macht, ein Fenster bzw Türsensor, Bewegungsmelder und ein Rauchmelder der bei Einbruch auch akustischen Alarm geben kann.Da es mir persönlich zu kompliziert wäre an jedem Fenster oder Tür einen Melder zu installieren habe ich lieber auf Bewegungsmelder in den Räumen gesetzt.Aufbau und Einrichtung:An sich eine sehr einfache Sache – trotz der meiner Meinung nach ziemlich schlechten App (die aber wohl überarbeitet wird).Man kann die Sensoren kleben oder schrauben – was sehr praktisch ist. Man wird bei der Einrichtung gut durch die einzelnen Schritte geführt, da kann nicht viel schief gehen.Benutzung:Ãber die hakelige App kann man -ausser den Bosch Smart Home Kameras- alle Geräte aus dem BOSCH Smart Home Bereich Fernsteuern, selbt Philips HUE könne bedient werden.Leider ist die App ziemlich unübersichtlich und die Alarmfunktion ist etwas versteckt – da man aber auch Favoriten einrichten kann lässt sich das auch ewas nach vorne holen.Man kann mehrere Konten einrichten (was nicht ganz selbsterklärend ist), damit kann man dann mit meheren die Haussteuerung teilen (und den Alarm auch abstellen ….)Wünschenswert wäre die Integration von den Kameras und eine Bedienung z.B. über Alexa (was andere Alarsysteme ja schon bieten).Ebenso fehlt noch eine externe Alarsirene, die wäre zur Abschreckung wirklich praktisch.
