Fantastic little mic
I’m constantly trying to capture decent audio for my videos and online calls, I’ve been on the lookout for a truly portable and hassle free microphone. The BOYA mini Wireless Microphone really caught my eye, and after using it for a bit, I can honestly say it’s quite impressive for its size and price. The first thing you notice is just how incredibly small and lightweight it is. Seriously, at 5g, you barely feel it clipped onto your shirt. This is a huge plus for discreet recording and for not tugging at your clothes, which was always a minor annoyance with bulkier mics. It’s truly “ultralight,” as advertised.Setup is an absolute breeze. It’s truly plug-and play. I simply plugged the USB-C receiver into my Phone and turned on the tiny mic transmitter, and it paired instantly. No apps to download, no complicated Bluetooth menus to navigate just instant connection, which is fantastic when you’re in a hurry.Sound quality is surprisingly good for such a small device. It captures clear audio, and the three level noise reduction is a lifesaver. I’ve tested it in a moderately noisy environment, and it does a great job of cutting out background hums and chatter, making my voice much clearer. It’s not studio grade, of course, but for online meetings, or quick interviews, it’s more than sufficient and a massive upgrade over relying on my phone’s built in mic.The “AI Voice Changer” is a fun, quirky feature. While I probably won’t use it for professional content, it’s definitely entertaining to play around with male and female voice effects. It’s a nice bonus if you want to add a bit of novelty to your casual videos.Battery life seems pretty solid too. Each transmitter lasts about 6 hours on a single charge, and the charging case extends that to a total of 30 hours, which is more than enough for a day’s worth of recording or multiple shorter sessions. My only minor critique would be that while the data transfer is fine for audio, don’t expect blazing fast speeds if you were hoping to use it for anything other than its intended purpose. But for its primary function as a wireless lavalier microphone, it excels. It’s a fantastic little microphone, incredibly convenient, delivers surprisingly clear audio with effective noise reduction, and is genuinely ultraportable. If you’re looking for a simple, effective, and truly mini wireless mic for your phone, especially with a USB-C port, this is definitely one to consider.

A nice, small, good quality lavalier mic for USB-C devices
Iâve reviewed a couple of these battery operated bluetooth microphones recently. The key selling point for this one is that it is a smaller unit (and sold as a single microphone – most of these are packaged in pairs). This means itâs simpler, but at £28 not necessarily cheaper – fine for someone who wants to ensure a clear voice recording when using their phone as a video device.Note, this does not come with any lightning adapters which means that if you intend to use it with an older model iPhone you may run into trouble. This is a USB-C connector only – fine for ipads, newer iphones and all modern laptops and android devices. My criticism would be that the mic itself is still pretty chunky. Not very subtle and hard to hide if you are hoping to pick up voice without a mic on show.Charging and establishing bluetooth connectivity are no problem at all and work at a good distance. Very simple and intuitive plug and play, a reliable clip and the battery lasts a good amount of time (at least 1 hour – I have not tried it for longer). This will not be as good as professional mic, but for most amateur needs it will be a good starting point and a definite upgrade from your normal phone mic.I have not got to grips with the AI voice changer/enhancer element of this.

Very, Very Impressed
Admittedly I saw the price of these microphones and thought that they would be some cheap rubbish item, but I was very pleasantly surprised with the audio quality. It’s not going to be the same as a huge brand name obviously, but the quality was noticeably better than a regular desktop microphone or headphone microphone. The audio quality was actually incredible.Pair the audio quality with the fact that you have two of these microphones that have a plug and play receiver, and these are genuinely a game changer. At work I now use these for meetings, and if I ever have someone beside me in the same meeting we can both have a microphone on to transmit clear audio. The battery life is also quite reasonable. One of the items I’ve been most impressed with whilst reviewing honestly! If you want a pair of budget yet high quality lavalier microphones, these will do the job! Not to mention the quality to size ratio, they are tiny and highly portable!

Works fine with small tweaks
Tried it out during a short video project indoors and it handled the background noise quite decently. Voice came through clearly even with a bit of traffic outside the window. Light enough not to notice once itâs on, and pairing was quick. Signal didnât drop in a medium-sized flat and playback stayed synced. The different sound effects felt a bit unnecessary for my use but might be fun in a more casual setting. Noticed the battery stayed strong through the whole afternoon. Only thing that bothered me slightly was the clip â worked but needed adjusting once or twice. Handy enough for quick content or interviews, though not without minor quirks.

Good quality sound, small and compact.
BOYA mini Microphone (B0F2MKCJKX)Good quality sound, small and compact.I tested this with my Samsung S24+ mobile and was very pleased with the results. The quality of sound is very good, minimum background noise and all conversation clearly recorded.Battery life is rated for 6 hours although I’ve not tried them for that long. Connection is very simple and takes minimal effort. The receiver and mics are pre-paired so all that is needed is to insert the USB-C receiver into the mobile or laptop and begin recording.I liked the idea (from another review) of using a mic on both sides so you can turn your head without losing audio. These microphones work intuitively with your recording media to reduce the amount of interaction required and the AI voice modulation is fun to try out.I’m very pleased with the quality of these mics and I’m happy with my choice.
