Nice and cool after a couple of hours in the fridge
This is not the best finished pillow Iâve had but it keeps cool all night and I like the shape. It sits well in the middle of the pillow and doesnât fall down into the bed like so many I have had in the past. I will definitely buy again when it loose its gel

Itâs not bad but not great
I donât really have anything bad or great to say about it. You put it in the fridge, put it in your pillow & it does work for a bit but it on obviously warms up. It does the job up to a point. I suppose on depends on how long it takes you to get to sleep. I also use it on my ankles which is good. I do have mixed feelings as it works but not for long as Iâd want it to.

A Godsend
I’m so glad I bought 2 of these for this recent heatwave we’ve been having as I had trouble sleeping and cooling myself down. My only whine being, that it takes up so much room in the fridge but only because I have a bedside fridge so that’s “my” problem.I have Chronic Pulmonary Hypertension, with which I get breathless very easily and quickly if I get too hot and can get in a panic. So both of these babies taken out of the fridge, one in my pillow and one under my chest, cools & calms me into a serene sleep.I am so grateful to “Acacia Products” for supplying these as they are a godsend.I highly recommend this item to everyone ð

Effective for a while
This gel pillow is moderately useful. The size is good because it takes up the length of the pillow, which means when one part warms up you can move your head to the other part.However I had two issues with it: it didn’t retain its coolness for that long (warmed by the temperature of the room I assume), about 2-3 hours max despite my putting it in the chiller section of the refrigerator first. This was great at first but further into the night, it had lost it’s coolness when you still required your head to be cooled. Secondly, it is quite weighty and it does slide down inside the pillowcase. (Laying it on top on the pillow is not really a practical option). So you need to adjust it in the night when this happens. A non-slide material would prevent this from happening.So overall I found it better than not having any coolness at all, it can help you get to sleep in that sense, but a bit disappointing, for the reasons outlined.I used to have one you filled with cold water and it retained it’s coolness for much longer, but you obviously had to empty it for travel and then it gets mouldy inside…. using these as a one-off is too wasteful and expensive. Would I take the gel one with me on holiday again? On balance, only if I couldn’t find a better alternative and didn’t mind the extra weight in my luggage.

It works!
The item is of good size. I was initially somewhat unsure about what the surface would feel like against my face and I was surprised by heavy it felt. No problems with the feel of the surface and the weight meant it stayed put when laid on top of the pillow. However it was too heavy when it was put inside the silk pillow case. and pulled it down. However the cool pillow works! I seem to have a permanently hot head (!) and, like another reviewer, I too have a respiratory condition and find hot weather adversely effects my breathing. It was such a relief to have a cool face and subsequently some much needed sleep. How good is that?

multi-functional
The insert is a good size and slots easily into a pillow case. It’s perfectly comfortable to use it on top of the case too. It folds up easily, so it’s not hard to fit it in the fridge. It stays cool for a good length of time. So far, I’ve found it useful for icing injuries to my leg and also wrapping around my head when I have a headache. I haven’t used it so much as a pillow insert, because at some point in the night, it inevitably warms up and is then just an item that makes the pillow slightly less comfortable. If it’s just atop your pillow, it can just be discarded, if you’re awake enough to think to do so. Overall, I’m happy to own it.

Really helps cool down
Have used these in the past I originally bought two years ago so when one gets warm I still have another until first one cools again.Theyâre really good either inside pillow case or on itâs own.

Not Impressed
I’ve had water filled pillows and gel pillows for many years as I must have a cool head at night to avoid headaches. My last gel pillows were looking a bit grubby so I found these as a replacement. They are the same size as my old ones, slightly smaller than your standard pillow size, so that’s why I chose them. I tried them out for a week before I gave up. My old ones are stitched so the gel is in three sections, however these are only stitched down the centre, making two sections. I found that this just doesn’t hold the gel in place at all. All the gel ends up at your neck as it migrates down the pillow, that leaves the top warm and the pillow bottom heavy so it slides off as soon as you turn over. Also the surface is very slippery so it slides about if you put a pillowcase on it. My old ones have a plush surface which is much better. I’ve gone back to my old ones for now, but will keep these for very hot weather and lay my body on them rather than my head.

Acquistato per utilizzarlo unicamente quando soffro di emicrania (non più di 1-2 volte al mese, per fortuna), mi sono trovata benissimo con questo cuscino sia dopo averlo tenuto qualche ora in frigorifero che utilizzandolo senza alcuna refrigerazione: la sensazione di sollievo è immediata, almeno per quanto mi riguarda (so di persone a cui il freddo acuisce l’emicrania; per me vale l’esatto contrario). Non sempre è stato efficace al punto da evitarmi l’assunzione di medicinali appositi, ma senza dubbio è stato fondamentale per ridurre il dolore (soprattutto nella zona oculare) e garantirmi un minimo di sollievo fintanto che i medicinali non facevano effetto. In molti casi, comunque, l’utilizzo immediato al primo manifestarsi dei sintomi mi ha permesso di tenere a bada l’emicrania senza dover ricorrere ad alcun medicinale, motivo per cui do con piacere 5 stelle. Dato l’utilizzo sporadico, non posso tuttavia fornire informazioni utili a chi intende utilizzarlo quotidianamente, anche soltanto nel periodo estivo.

Nach ein paar Sommerwochen hier meine Erfahrung. Ich war sehr überrascht, dass es wirklich gut kühlt OHNE es vorher in den Kühlschrank gegeben zu haben. Ich habs einmal zusammengefaltet, damit es etwas dicker ist. Kopf drauf und voila!! Eine angenehme Kühle, die nicht sofort wieder weg ist, sondern bleibt. Nach ca. 15 Minuten vergeht die Kühle dann schon, jedoch kann man den Kopf auf andere Stellen legen und die Kühle kommt wieder, bis man das komplette Kissen durch hat. Irgendwann ists dann schon warm, aber dann legt man es einfach auf die Seite. Wie lang es braucht, um wieder die Kühle zu liefern weià ich nicht.Bei knapp 30 Grad in der Wohnung ist es mir sonst sehr schwer gefallen überhaupt einzuschlafen. AuÃerdem hatte ich oft Kopfschmerzen. Mit diesem Kissen hat sich das tatsächlich geändert bzw. war es ein Teil der Lösung. Die perfekte Kombi für mich ist: Gelkissen unter dem Kopf, nasses Handtuch aus dem Kühlschrank auf der Stirn und eine kleine Gel-Kühlmatte unter dem Rücken oder für die Beine.Das kühlt meinen ganzen Körper ab und ich fühle mich dadurch viel wohler!
