Robust 2.5Gb Switch with Automatic Failover
Bought 2 of these for the aggregated link function. Linked 2 offices together with a pair of cat 5 cables and now I’ve got a robust 2.5Gb link between them with automatic failover.

    Just works!
Easy-peasy, slots directly in and the three options for port 7 & 8 are really useful (normal, where port 7 and port 8 works as normal; segregated, where all ports are blocked from speaking to other ports except port 7 and 8; aggregated, where port 7 and 8 can bond for 5 gbit total bandwidth).Nice metal chassis. The PSU cable feels a bit flimsy, but it’s fine.

Does what it says it does. Created an aggregated link for my Synology disk station etc etc.

    Absolutely Fantastic!
I’m impressed! For the money, it’s great value for a high speed, selectable management switch. It has great functionality for isolating part of the network, and setting up is so easy with the flick of the switch. Absolutely Fantastic!

Quality, works well but a bit pricey for it’s feature set
BrosTrend 8 Port 2.5Gb Switch – ReviewThis switch offers great build quality with a metal case housing. The switch is very easy to setup by someone with a bit of networking knowledge. The ports support 2.5g each which is plenty for home or even office use.Overall for £74.99, at the time of review this switch is pricey for it’s feature set. However it offers good build quality & easy setup. My main concern is managed switches are around the same price or slightly more expensive and these offer lots of flexibility and features. 3.5 stars

It works fine, setup is easy, and does the job.
Having recently gone over to Sky broadband from Virgin, I had a bit of an issue.I like my pc hardwired to my router, which wasn’t an issue with Virgin due to the router being in the same attic room as my pc, but now, the Sky router is in the kitchen. What to do?The I saw this, along with a 50ft long lane cable and thought, this’ll do.And it does, fairly well.Even though I have usb wireless adapter that also does a great job, this enables a hardwire from the router straight to my and my daughter’s pcs. Yes, it’s a pain routing the cable all the way up 2 flights of stairs, but now I have two ways to connect to my network.Straigtt out of the box with minimal setup and there we go. It works. And I also have extra network ports to play with🤔, what to do?Anyways, for a home network, it’s good, but this would probably shine in an office network setup, or similar.

    Excellent Value 2.5Gb Switch
If you’re looking for a plug-and-play 2.5Gb switch, then this would be a great option. It provides high performance full 2.5Gbps across all eight ports, with little to no setup required. This makes it perfect for somebody looking for high-speed gaming, video editing, or who has a NAS. Plugging it in was all it took – instantly, all eight ports were running at full 2.5Gbps!There’s a simple toggle right on the front, letting you choose between standard operation, or enabling Static Link Aggregation for a lightning-fast 5Gbps connection to something like a dual-port NAS. It also has a “VLAN” mode, which is more about port isolation for simple segmentation than traditional, full VLAN tagging, but it’s still quite handy for specific setups. It feels really well-built with its metal casing. Best of all, it’s completely silent since there’s no fan. If you’re after a powerful, reliable multi-gigabit switch that doesn’t overcomplicate things, you really can’t go wrong with this.

Well-built 8 port multi-gigabit switch with lots of features
I have an existing 8 port switch connected near my entertainment centre that is about 10 years old and is in need of replacement, partly because it has a plastic housing and over the years it has taken some serious abuse that has in fact cracked the housing. Enter the Bros Trend 8 port multi-gigabit switch with its all metal housing. It feels very robust – I highly doubt this switch will ever suffer a housing failure due to damage. It has a three way switch that allows you to select different behaviours for the switch. While they are interesting and of-use to a small segment, I suspect that most people who purchase this switch would be in a similar situation to me: they will have quite a few items to connect to an ethernet connection, such as a television, a gaming console, a Sky or Virgin box, maybe an A/V receiver or sound bar, and they might even have a few more random pieces – and all of them want a fast connection to an ethernet cable. For most people I would suspect that gigabit speeds are more than sufficient for their ethernet needs. In my case I actually have a 2Gbps fibre connection at home and this Bros Trend switch has allowed me to upgrade the speed available to all of my entertainment devices – except for my top of the line Amazon Fire TV Cube with its 10/100 ethernet connection. Why on earth would a company like Amazon make such an excellent home streaming solution in the mid 2020’s and kneecap it with a maximum speed of 100Mbps? I digress. All of the devices now connected to this multi-gigabit switch are connected via a CAT 6 cable to my router’s main multi-gigabit LAN port, which allows all of these devices to access the internet at up to a blistering 2.5Gbps. Once my internet provider upgrades my line over the winter I should get the full 2.5Gbps, and I have no doubts about this switch. It has performed flawlessly in its role and I expect it to last for many years. There is an additional group of people that could make use of this multi-gigabit switch: those that have network attached storage at home that want the fastest possible speeds between devices. This switch will excel in that role and the management options could be quite useful.Overall I think this switch is a good value and due to the additional management options I think it appeals to a very diverse pool of consumers with varying needs. Maybe you just need a few extra ethernet ports and you want to future proof your equipment – this will do that for you. Maybe you want all of your entertainment devices to have the fastest possible speeds – this will do that for you. Maybe you want to connect your NAS to the rest of your network and you want the fastest speeds possible – this will allow that. It’s a great piece of kit that deserves your consideration.
