Purchased this item as the current Dyson battery doesnt cover the whole house on a Dyson V10 on the Max setting for more than 10 minutes!Item ordered, once arrived I took apart the old Dyson V10 battery (kept the old screws), attached the new Makita battery holder to my V10 Dyson, tried to use the screws provided, of which are of poor build quality and not long enough! So had to re-use the old screws from the Dyson V10 battery, of which did not provide a snug & seamless fit (like the Dyson battery) and was slightly adjusted. Was too scared to screw in the old screws any further, fearing I was take the screw head off! Only downside of re-using the old screws, means this item when a battery is fitted to the holder the Dyson V10 may start vacumming if held in a certain way even though the trigger is not being pressed.Once fitted, attempted to attach an older 5Ah battery (NOT LXT) and the did not fit!So had to purchase new Makita 5Ah LXT batteries (I found a deal on Sxxxxfix for a 5Ah MAKITA brand new 3 off), charge them and when fitting to the new holder attached to my Dyson V10 I was pleasently surprised!Dyson V10 was set to the MAX setting and was able to complete my whole house (1300 Sq. ft.) on a single fully charged 5Ah Makita LXT battery (obviously stopping and starting by pressing/released the Dyson V10 trigger).Only thing to be aware of is sometimes if using your Dyson V10 for an extended period of time on the MAX setting (trigger is pressed and held for extended period of time), this item/fixture that allows Makita LXT batteries to be attached to your Dyson V10 may start a self-cooling process preventing you from drawing power from the battery when the Dyson v10 trigger is pressed. Only way around is to remove & replace the battery with another Makita LXT battery and away you go, or allow some time for the battery to cool. I did not allow the battery to cool, I simply changed it for another and was able to continueWould have been a 5 star review had the screws provided gave a snug fit of the Makita battery holder to my Dyson V10 and if it could have been used with older Makita batteries (non-LXT) , nonetheless I am still happy with the product and use my Dyson V10 regularly in a house with 2 kids (6 & 3 years old)!!For those doubting to do this, don’t! Do it & you will not regret it!For those who do not have Makita LXT batteries but wish to purchase some and use it alongside this product on their V10 go for it! You will not regret it.For those who dont own Makita LXT batteries, be prepared of the additional rising costs alongside this product, namely, batteries & charger!

Don’t waste your money
Don’t waste your money.This started off great, easy to install and when I popped in a DeWalt battery it worked fine. The problem is after about 5 mins of use it stopped working. The Dyson flashed red lights, indicating a battery issue.I changed the battery to another DeWalt battery and it had the same issue.I wish love for this to have worked, and it seemed like it would at the start, but it just isn’t worth it as it didn’t live up to the hype

This was an absolute game changer. When I was using my Dyson with the original battery and adapter, I couldn’t even get through my whole house with one full charge, and my house is really small. Having this adapter allows us to use the DeWalt batteries that can get us through a few full vacuum sessions, and we have multiple backup batteries so we can switch them out easily and continue our cleaning.
