Doesn’t work with combined data & power connector
My mini HTPC is getting too hot when working hard so bought this to fit an additional cooling fan. Guess what, it doesn’t fit the connector! The spare SSD plug is a combined data/power plug and this single power plug connector doesn’t fit unless one of the locking tabs is removed (voiding the return). I thought it’s worth cutting the tab off so it fits. Bingo it fits. Plugged it in, connected my external fan and….. nothing. Tried a 5V fan, tried a 12V fan nothing. Then put a volt meter over the red and black wires to the fan and nothing! I’m sure the connections in the moulded plug must be correct so maybe the computer plug needs a data connection to run voltage to it, I don’t know. When the same plug is used to run an SSD it works fine.Both of the cables are now in the bin, no point in keeping something that doesn’t work. I’ve now purchased an external USB powered fan that works as I expected. Cannot recommend these as they didn’t work as I wanted.

Great for full fan speed
Used it on a pc with a a320 amd motherboard.There was only 2 fan outputs and I needed at least 4 and I have very silent fans so didn’t matter about full speed
