These Cable Matters USB-A to USB-C adapters work really well for both data transfer and fats charging, offering impressive speeds of up to 10Gbps – not that I have anything that can test it to it’s limits so I will have to take their word on that, as transferring large files between devices has been quick and straightforward, and they handle fast charging without any issues, even with larger devices like the iPad Pro and Galaxy S23.These adapters are compact, well-built, and connect securely with a snug fit that doesnât slip or loosen. They do tend to get a bit warm when transferring large amounts of data which take longer, but I think all connectors of this type do that, but their aluminium alloy shell helps here as they allow the heat to dissipate much faster than a plastic connector would. It also makes them more durable.The reversible USB-C design is just a positive of the design of the USB-C connector rather than a positive found only with the Cable Matters adapter. It makes them convenient to use without having to check the orientation of the adapter, but when you patch the USB-A cable into this adapter you still have to make sure that goes into the adapter in the correct orientation, so any benefit is short lived really.Overall I think these are really well made and also look good as you can see the effort they have put into the design, as the connectors curve away nicely to each end and have the Cable Matters logo on there. Apart from the other benefits I mentioned about the aluminium alloy shell, that also adds to the prestige look that these have, and they are finished off in a lovely silver colour.

Excellent for new laptops with older components!
I got this because my new XPS only has USB-C connectors on it, this is all well and good but many pheriperals still use USB-A connectors which makes life a pain. These little adaptors allow me to use my favourite mouse and keyboard with little pain.The units themeselves are made of a silver metal outer shell which has a silky soft finish to it, the anodisation looks great and they have laser etched their simple logo on the side. The connectors themselves are nicely made and when plugged in are giving a secure fitment on both the USB-C and female USB-A ends.I have been able to test the speeds out on this and I am hitting the upper limits of what my card reader is able to push through it. These having 10Gbps is a little overkill for my use case but is a nice to have for the future.Overall, cable matters products are made with a great deal of care and are premium products which won’t break the bank. I love their stuff and I can highly recommend these adaptors! 5/5!
