Great for karaoke.
I’ve just used these for karaoke in the pub and they were perfect.Plugged through the previous bands PA system they sounded great. No distortion or crackling.They actually sounded a lot better than expected.Very surprised and happy for £28.

Surprisingly good for the money
Terrific value for money.Look like much more expensive microphones and have a good weight to them.I put mine through an interface [Scarlett] for recording vocals. Work quite well.Good long cables too and plenty on length to put mic on stand.Look good too in black finish.Quality of sound is absolutely fine for most applications.Would buy again.

What a deal works fine

Pros:- Decent build quality- Solid weight due to cast iron body- Good output volume- Impressive cardioid pickup pattern- Great for Karaoke applications- Good value at $35.99 for 2 microphones and cablesCons:- Cable does not support balanced mic configuration and is more prone to noise interference- TS ¼” male connector instead of TRSThe Cable Matters Cardioid Dynamic Vocal Microphone with 4.5m Cable (2-pack) has a decent build quality. The microphone has a solid weight to it due to its cast iron body. I am impressed because this feature is not normally offered in this price range. ($35.99 for 2)While less sensitive than a powered condenser microphone, the unpowered dynamic mic can register considerable volume without any amplification into my laptop via a 3.5mm-to-USB adapter. This tells me the dynamic mic’s output is good.The even more impressive part is the cardioid pickup pattern this mic processes. Even at 45 degrees when speaking into the microphone, the output audio has been significantly attenuated. At 90 degrees, the mic does not register any audio. This to me is quite impressive. This means that this microphone is great for Karaoke applications where feedback is greatly reduced or eliminated.The cable, however, does not support a balanced mic configuration which helps to reject noise. It appears that pins 1 and 3 are short together right at the XLR connector. This means that there is only 1 signal wire and 1 ground shield in the cable. A proper balanced XLR cable would have 2 signal wires and 1 ground shield. The TS (Tip Sleeve) ¼” male connector also gives away this shortcoming. A proper balanced XLR mic should have a TRS (Tip Ring Sleeve) ¼” male plug. Therefore the included cable is more prone to noise interference.Overall, the microphone under review has decent sound and a solid build quality. In addition, it highly rejects sounds not coming from the singer or the speaker, reducing noise and feedback. At the current selling price of $35.99, you get 2 sets of microphones and cables. This is a good deal.
