Really good cable for the money, but a little microphonic if used with headphones
I bought this to use with a pair of Sony XM5 headphones so I could see what they sounded like driven from my Asgard 3 amp (I didnât want to spend a fortune as it was just for testing/curiosity). As usual with Cable Matters products, in my experience at least, it turned up well finished and with good, positive-fitting connectors. The only minus is that the cable transmits a degree of handing noise into the headphones, so you can hear the cable rustle through the âphones as you move it. Not a biggie, and not enough to even lose it a star at this price, but something to be aware of if you plan on using it with headphones and youâre particularly sensitive to handling noise.

Sounds good but the durability of the first cable wasn’t good
Sounds good but the durability of the first cable wasn’t good.I purchased this cable and was very please, good length, sounded good and seemed well made.I have bought many items from cable matters and they have been great so this might of been a one off but the first cable bought in Aug 2022 has started to fail and audio cuts out when in certain positions. I do use it every day for around 8-10 hours. No external signs of wear either.I have now purchased a second cable (Feb 2023) to replace the first and will see how i get on.

Let down by cable noise
Feels great, nice quality product but suffers from significant cable noise if you move the cable.Great if you’re using it stationary, not great to plug into headphones

The shroud at the 3.5mm end was too thick to fit my Sony headset. I had to use a grinder to reduce the thickness so it would fit
