Worked perfectly with my set up.
This might be one of my favourite bits of smart home kit yet….as others have mentioned it just works and does exactly what its supposed to do!I’ve been looking for some smart dimmers for a while and finally decided to take the plunge with a candeo zigbee smart dimmer to see if it worked in my set up. I was a bit apprehensive as I’d read some reviews about flickering LEDs, LEDs not turning off fully and problems with firmware requiring updating. However, this worked perfectly for me with none of these problems and I now have 3 of them installed. Here’s my set up:- I was planning on converting an old faceplate with a switch and 2 dimmer controls to 3 dimmers and as I’d read that they fit well with the varilight matrix range of faceplates I went for one of these. They fit perfectly with this faceplate (see photo).- I have 3 areas – 2 with 4 x 4.4W Collingwood H2LITE dimmable bulbs and one area with 7x 4.4W Collingwood H2LITE dimmable bulbs. The product details mention that bulbs should be a minimum of 5W, but my 4.4W bulbs work perfectly.- Installation was very straight forward – essentially a like for like replacement of the old dimmers.- Following the instructions, pairing was also rapid and seamless. I have a Sonoff zigbee 3.0 dongle Plus and use ZHA in home assistant. Of note, I’ve gone to a lot of effort previously to make sure I’ve got a very robust zigbee network with plenty of zigbee devices that act as routers. Speaking of which – these also act as zigbee routers.- the firmware on these is 0x0000000c in case you’ve been reading about previous firmware issues elsewhere.- I’ve also integrated into Alexa via the home assistant Alex media player integration and voice control is working perfectly. All in all, these were a fantastic buy. They’ve been installed and working for a couple of weeks, integration into home assistant was seamless, they look good and no different from standard dimmer switches. Manual operation is also great – the dimmers are smooth to operate with no flickering when changing brightness and they give a reassuring click when turned on and off. I don’t have any other dimmer switches in my house unfortunately otherwise I’d be buying more!

I like this product.
Great product that fills a gap. A physical dimmer switch to keep technophobes happy. Zigbee integration with your smarthome for full control No neutral required. Ability to set minimum brightness is a nice touch. Not the cheapest Zigbee light switch but a great solution for real-world installation.

Best of both worlds
Great mix of the traditional and modern, working exactly like an old fashioned dimmer and a modern WiFi dimmer at the same time. Easy installation.

Works as expected
A lot of Zigbee light switches look terrible, this one at least looks like it belongs in a house in the UK. Installation is as easy as any other light switch, pop the old one off, rewire the wires into this and pop it on. It comes with screws and screw-covers for a slightly smarter look. The included instructions are clear and configuration is easy. It is possible to completely reset the device; pair it with a Zigbee controller; and adjust the minimum brightness setting. Even with kids, it’s unlikely you’ll accidentally reset the device, but it’s easy enough to repair if that did happen. The push button doesn’t travel far and is quiet to action. Turning the knob is notched and turns infinitely in either direction. When linked up, you can turn a non-smart bulb on and off, and dim remotely – but unlikely with smart bulbs, you can also use the switch without disabling the smart functionality. You can switch freely between an app or the switch and work in tandem.I have used a Sonoff USB controller and Zigbee2MQTT to control the device, it paired without trouble and is reporting as a router. You can set the power on behaviour to avoid the light coming on after a power cut in the middle of the night or something. The downsides are, it’s very expensive and only comes in rotten plastic white. A brushed steel version would be nice. While you can get just the dimmer or pop the knob off this one, knob sizes aren’t standard and I couldn’t find any in my house that I could get to fit.

Excellent smart dimmer all round.
Unlike many, this smart dimmer switch fits perfectly in a traditional UK single backbox. After a quick install and easy setup, it connected directly to the wi-fi and does not need a separate hub. Dimming performance is excellent with smooth dimming right down to zero when used with good quality LED lamps. The smart apps are pretty good but after setup, I connected to my existing Google home easily for greater convenience. Recommended.Edit. I’ve just bought another Candeo smart dimmer to replace a Varilight standard dimmer which I have previously recommended
