Customers say

Customers find the printer offers good value for money and appreciate its functionality, with one noting its wireless and Bluetooth features work well. The print quality and setup experience receive mixed feedback – while some say it prints well and is easy to set up, others report poor quality and complicated setup instructions. The print speed and build quality also get mixed reviews, with some finding it very fast and sturdy, while others say it’s slow and flimsy. Moreover, connectivity issues are significant, with customers reporting constant connection problems, and the ink quality is concerning as the printer uses a lot of ink for few pages.

    Canon pixma ts5150
I had the hp deskjet 3760 and this has been returned as it was a complete nightmare setting up and trust me the scanner is totally rubbish!Anyway the difference with the ts5150 and hp is literally night and day, this printer is superb, got it for £50 (just £10 more than the deskjet) and the set up was simplicity itself if you follow these instructions…Set up the printer as per the instructions and stop when you get to the “connecting your printer” section. Now using the screen on the printer, use arrow key and navigate to the WiFi icon (bottom left) press OK and it will ask you for wireless lan, click on this, then it will give you a WAP set up option or “set up manually”, press on “set up manually”, it will then search for available routers, my router appeared instantly (this never happened with the hp), tap on your router and a little keyboard will appear, navigate round this with the arrow keys and press OK for each character, this takes a little time but believe me it’s worth it!Once you’re password is entered (with correct upper and lower case letters) press on OK.That’s it! Instantly connected, from opening the box to up and running took me 15 minutes! The app you need is “canon print” app, not the print /selfy blah blah blah.Open the canon print app, tap add printer (and because you are already connected to the router) your ts5150 will appear, click on this and wait for it to set up.That’s all there is to it, this advice was borrowed from another review on here, many thanks to you sir.

    Cheap and OK
When my well used Canon Pixma finally died I looked for a new printer. My requirements had changed – I no longer need 6 separate inks and a slide scanner – so I looked for something more basic. This TS5150 is certainly fairly basic. I’m trying to use it more often, because my old printer had issues due to infrequent use. The print quality is perfectly acceptable and although I won’t be printing photos, the one I tried was fine as well. The main thing I wanted was the ability to connect with USB as well as Wifi – this has that connection.Having to lift the front cover right up is an irritation, it tells you off and won’t do anything if you don’t have it in the right position. The paper tray holds very little – but I’m only using it for the odd thing that needs printing so I don’t mind that. I’ve got it set on ‘quiet mode’ – the actual printing is fairly quiet, the amount of chuntering and whirring that goes on each time before it prints is more irritating.Having set up loads of printers over the years I found this one surprisingly awkward. The instructions weren’t particularly helpful and my Windows 11 laptop didn’t see it as a plug and play item.I’m very happy with the quality of scans. It’s a shame it doesn’t use the same software as my old Canon, although I kept the program it isn’t compatible with the new printer/scanner.It’s a cheap printer, which does a good job if you want something for occasional printing. If you do a lot of printing then I would spend more and get something with more paper capacity.

    Value for money
It’s fine for home use and I’m pleased with it’s functionality and noise level, definitely value for money and size.

    Good for the price
So far so good! Bought to replace Canon Pixma 5750 which was slow and clunky and refused to accept Canon cartridges..was never really happy with it although it lasted about 5 years. This is is quieter and faster printing although as previously stated it is a bit flimsier. The rear paper cartridge is a bit of a faff although no doubt I’ll get used to it. I also don’t see the point of the removable strip of plastic in the bottom paper tray but all in all, for the price no complaints so far although not keen on the combined colour cartridge. On the plus side I found it very straightforward to connect via theapp..from unpacking to up and running in around 10 minutes…and I’m an older person.

Ink Cartridges Very Expensive – Does not print the number of pages it claims
Excellent printer /copier BUT uses a lot of ink IRRESPECTIVE of print quality setting.Set my printer to draft/greyscale and does not help.Printer cartridges generic or other are expensive – this printer DOES NOT print the number of pages it claims to print!I have tried resetting, cleaning the nossils and ensuring only new Canon cartridges are used – no difference.Would not recommend, suggest you pay extra for a Eco tank type…

    Printer
This is a good printer like the way the front is that is easy to read and set up. Set up was flawless with no hic cups, easy to read the screen on the front that helps you with setting it up and using the printer. Has disc and instruction booklet to help you set it up.

Good for home use to print letters, but not so good for printing volume
I bought this because I print handouts for my training programmes but in the 2 weeks I’ve had it the integral colour cartridge has had to be changed twice and the black one once. It’s been expensive particularly if you need to do a lot of printing because you can’t buy a single colour cartridge, you have to buy the tri-colour cartridge. Sturdy otherwise and quite easy to use, just not right for me. The paper tray also slides in and out under the pull-out paper holder for the printed pages which is clunky and frustrating.

    Pain to get going
A nice printer etc, but a pain to get it going. To simply use the scan ,at first nothing would work on it. So we googled the problem ,then we had to put in a password that was on the box we threw out. Also the canon website it said to use to install the app so we could it on my phone laptop etc had every Canon printer model on the list but our model number was not on the list . So again we had to google again for the answer. We finally got it working in the end.

Modèle britannique livré avec un cordon à trois broches, pas de cordon français ! L’imprimante fonctionne correctement avec un cordon que j’ai dû acheter en urgence.

Fast delivery, product exactly as ordered, easy set-up and great value for money. Probably one of the best products in the low-price range. Perhaps because my old printer was quite old, I find the quality really good for home use
