This lens is an absolute work horse and a huge part of my photography work is done with this lens, from portrait on location to reportage style shots and perfect for my advertising work.it’s a lot of money but worth every penny. If you can afford it, i’d not compromise for the f4 version. this one is my go too for so many shoots and I have a lot of L series lenses.

Very light and compact. Don’t get along with the trypod mount. It responds as expected for ‘L’ glass Canon lenses and with f2.8 throughout a very good lens. Either coupled to a R5 or R6 mk2 it works well.

Very sharp, light and versatile 70-200mm. It does not get better than this.
I like that this lens is sharp and compact. There is no compromise on picture quality. Use to have EF 70-200MM mk2 but I was reluctant to always put it on my bag as its a bit heavy. This one is so light and it’s always in my bag now. I shoot more with it than I use to be with my old EF version. If you are not in the R system yet, this lens could be a reason to consider switching to Canon mirrorless.

Ich bin beeindruckt von der Schärfe und Klarheit meiner Aufnahmen, die dieses kompakte und leichte Telezoom-Objektiv ermöglicht.Im Vergleich zum legendären EF 70-200mm F2.8L IS II USM, das bei DSLR-Nutzern sehr beliebt ist, bietet dieses RF Systemobjektiv tatsächlich eine noch bessere Abbildungsqualität. Dies schreibt Canon selbst über das Objektiv und ich kann es nur bestätigen. Es ist erstaunlich, wie Canon es geschafft hat, die optische Leistung weiter zu verbessern.Das geringe Gewicht und der Bildstabilisator sind für mich als Fotografen von unschätzbarem Wert. Ich kann das Objektiv über längere Zeiträume halten und aus der Hand fotografieren, ohne Kompromisse bei der Bildstabilität eingehen zu müssen. Zuerst: Ich hatte schon viele.Sigma 70-200 F2,8 für Sony A-MountSony 70-200 F2,8 für den Sony A-MountSony 70-200 F2,8 für den Sony E-MountCanon 70-200 F2,8 EF L IS USM II für den EF Mount.Und alle haben sie eines gemein – sie sind Groà und Leistungsstark.Am meisten überrascht (aber im negativen Sinne) – hat mich das Sony für E-Mount. Trotz Wegfall des Spiegels und neuer Objektivkonstruktion ist es ein total durschnittliches 08/15 “70-200 2,8” geworden – mit recht lautem Autofokus und null Innovation.Am liebstem hatte ich von den vieren das Canon 70-200 F2,8 EF L IS USM II.Ein Arbeitstier, top Quali, Robust, Wasserdicht. Canon L halt. Was will man mehr?Genau! Das RF 70-200 F2,8Deutlich leichter, deutlich kleiner, Bildqualität nochmal ein Tick besser als bei der EF Version. DER Autofokus überhaupt. Extremst schnell. Wirklich herausragend! Kein 70-200 das es so gibt kann da mithalten. Lautlos. Lediglich der Bildstabi ist minimal hörbar. Wirklich, nur minimalst.Dazu kommt: Eine Naheinstellgrenze von nur 0,6m. Alle andern liegen da bei 1,2m oder 1m.Die Halbierung der Naheinstellgrenze macht einen immensen Unterschied. Ich wollte bei allen 70-200er oft noch nen tick näher ran – ging dann aber nicht.Und hier – denke ich nur noch: Krass!!! Dass DAS! geht!Hab ich schon erwähnt wie klein das Ding wird? Es ist unfassbar. Man kann die EOS-R (Nummer der Wahl) mit angesetztem 70-200 in der Foto-Tasche verstauen. TOP!!!Da kann sich Sony und Nikon ne Scheibe von Abschneiden!SO! Geht 70-200 F2,8 ohne Spiegel!!!Und, das beste: Für alle Landschaftler gibt es das Ganze auch noch als F4 Version. Nochmal ne Spur kleiner und leichter.Sony und Nikon bauen halt nach wie vor DSLR-Linsen mit “eingebautem Adapter”. Zumindest was Brennweite/Blende/Objektiv-GröÃe angeht. Da ist null Innovation bei den beiden…DANKE!Canon hat es verstandenPS: Demnächst kommt mein Review zum anderen “GAME-Changer” Objektiv: Dem RF 28-70 F2 !
