Hand down the best GPS tracker around!! Love it!!
Hands down, the best tracker I have ever used!I have used 4 or 5 different trackers in the past, but this one beats all the rest I have previously used by a country mile! I originally had a spare mobile phone set up with a 4G sim and a GPS app installed, and it worked OK, but the battery life on the phone wasn’t great and I could only charge it whilst I had the ignition on, so after a day or so it would drain the battery life.So I looked at an alternative option. I purchased a GPS tracker (i forget the name of the brand) which i hardwired into the car via the fuse box – again, this worked OK, but it had a very buggy app and rarely showed the correct location.So I then purchased a ‘mini GPS’ sim tracker that claimed to work with any sim carrier…but it didn’t and I could even get it to work. Lastly, before I got this device, I purchased the Vodafone curve which has a built in v-sim. Out of all the previous ones, the vodafone curve is the best, and works relatively well for a small monthly fee – but – compared to this item, the curve is nothing.Now…for THIS item…what a nice, easy and simple device that works…and very well!After unboxing, there’s a slip with an activation code to register the device. Then it was just a case of downloading the devices app and plugging into the OBD port of my car.No wires. No mess. No fuss. Don’t even have to worry about fiddling with a sim card as it has one built in. Don’t have to worry about battery life either. It pulls through enough power without the ignition on and no reduction in battery voltage and …it just works very well. It even has useful features in the app to enable smart security to detect vibration and you can even set it up to detect harsh cornering/braking/accellation etc.You can see exactly when the engine is started and stopped, where the car has been on each trip…and even follow the map LIVE if you wanted.Literally the only nag I had was that once I plugged the device into my OBD port, the flap door that covers my port wouldn’t close as the device was sticking out. But this was a very easy and simple workaround…the guys who manufacturer this device also offer an extension OBD cable, and its relatively cheap, too. I purchased the cable, and once I installed it, I was able to hide the device in the dashboard and close the flap door. This device also detects and notifies you when it is plugged in or unplugged.I dont have a bad thing to say about it. I gave had it in the car almost a week now…and I love how simple it is to operate.The monthly subscription is 100% worth it.

Fantastic piece of kit
So glad I came across this whilst looking for something to protect my car from thieves and tampering. So easy to set up, I bought the extra vibration sensor and sensor to attach to my keys. The key sensor fob is brilliant as I kept forgetting to turn the locks off so I was being notified that my car was being stolen. Now with the key fob it automatically turns off when Iâm walking to the car and turns back on when I leave the car. I personally 100% recommend this product. Itâs so easy to set up.

Great idea, but doesn’t quite work
Very easy to install and set up. I have been using it for around 2 weeks now. Thoughts so far, when it works it is fantastic but there are too many issues with the device.1. Trips are not always logged. Have to contact support to resolve. Takes around 48 hrs. UPDATE* Support has fixed this problem and it is working fine.2. Smart tag on Bluetooth does not always work. On a few occasions that smart tag has not automatically disabled the security. UPDATE* Support has resolved this problem with my iPhone. Had to enable CarLock in Motion & Fitness.3. Driving score not logged. Have to contact support to resolve. Takes around 48 hrs. UPDATE* Support has fixed this problem and it is working fine.I am still very happy with the device. I like the logging of each trip, no more arguments about how long a journey took to drive. GPS location helps in large carparks. The vibration sensor is very sensitive, which is good in case there is a hit and run on your vehicle. The battery monitor is in real time and is useful to check your battery health.I would definitly get the extension cable, allows you to place the device in a more suitable location. I have hid mine behind a panel and secured it with cable ties. This should in theory make it harder for would be thieves to find the device and throw it away.The smart tag, still not sure about this bluetooth device. I am waiting on the battery life before making a final verdict.

I have a lot of experience with GPS car alarms. I’ve been running the 103B china models in two of my cars for 10 years. The negatives of them is they need cell phone plans, they pull a decent amount of power (30mA) which made my car batteries only last about 2 years, and the signal strength wasn’t very good.I decided to switch to Carlock after good reviews from my friend. Overall I am very impressed. It has amazing service, even inside my garage. I love how it shows the vehicle battery voltage and will even alerts you if it drops too low. The power draw is very small at just 2mA. That’s 15x less than my old alarm systems. The vibration sensor seems to have a good degree of sensitivity. It’s not to sensitive, but also triggers my phone app within about 2 seconds when I open one of my doors.The one negative is the Tag to automatically arm/disarm the alarm. It appears to activate on motion (such as when you are walking). It does arm and disarm my car every time. The main issues I have probably wont affect most people. For the car I drive to work, I like to take lunch break in my car. As I’m sitting there listening to music, it will arm again. Occasionally since it’s armed the vibration sensor sends me an alert from the music bass. I wish it was a little better at checking if it’s near the car before it arms again. I’ll get half a dozen alerts or more in just one 30 minute lunch break. I bought my seconds alarm for my show car. I’m probably not going to use the smart lock feature with the tag because it will most likely keep arming when I’m sitting by my car, then disarm if I stand up to talk to someone. Maybe that will change in future updates.Overall I’m very happy with it. It’s great peace of mind knowing where my cars are at all time and if one gets hit in the parking lot or broken into, I’ll know immediately.

I’ve been using Carlock since 2018. After ordering a TAG 2.0, I realized my unit was too old to support the Bluetooth features of this tag. Carlock customer service was very responsive and offered me a discount on the newer unit, including a painless migration of my history and settings. Replacing the unit was effortless, as was switching to proper TAG 2.0 Bluetooth mode to lock/unlock Carlock based on proximity. I also ordered an additional vibration sensor to mount in my car glove compartment, and I can report that this sensor works flawlessly, too. All in all, I think Carlock is still the best (if not cheapest) option to prevent car theft and break-ins and be warned of damage. Suggestion to the company: I’d love to see basic OBD diagnostic scanning features in a future version, so I can retire my separate OBD diagnostics dongle.
