Customers say

Customers find the function generator works well and consider it worth the money, describing it as a fun project. The assembly process receives mixed feedback – while some find it fairly easy to put together, others criticize the poor written instructions. Moreover, the quality and signal performance get mixed reviews, with some reporting good results while others experience issues. Additionally, the fit is problematic, with customers noting that the knobs don’t match the pots and the four smaller screws are only just long enough.

    Enjoyable assembly
    Not much in the way of instructions, but all the bits were there. Soldered and assembled without too much trouble. Make sure the pins go in vertical, or the jumper won’t fit through the case. Not powered it up yet, so can’t comment, but enjoyed assembling it.

    Simple enough build
    Good for soldering practice.

    Poor design
    The four smaller screws are only just long enough. The knobs don’t fit the pots unless they are sanded down or the pots fixed high. You only notice after assemble.

    Fun little project!
    For a cheap little function generator, it works! The ic was marked with the correct numbers. It is quite noisy on sine & triangle settings, but for the price and the learning experience it is worth the money. The square wave is a lot cleaner on my board.I used a 9v and 12v power supply to see if that made any difference to the noise, I also used batteries, always the same noise. They’re cheap and educational, so get a thumbs up from me.

    Works well
    Used it to test an amplifier kit with an oscilloscope. Producing clean signals within the audio range 10Hz to 20kHz. Not tested other frequencies. Needing a reasonable fine tip for soldering and important to fit the electrolytic capacitors snug to the board and the other components not higher than the top of the el-caps. Minor criticism, the box could be a little taller to fit easier and the small screws for the board could be a little longer. For this price excellent product.

    Amplifier button would work from high to low;
    Good value for money, pleased with the enclosure, applaud the idea. However the amplification button works from high to low, (high most left) and turning clockwise, decreasing, and not much difference between fine and course adjustment. Overall, for the money spent, consider it as a short, positive exercise!

    Parts quality is very poor
    The parts included in this kit do work – so I can’t send it back – but they are very poor quality and, I’m guessing, so ashamed of where they originate from that they don’t have any manufacturer’s name or specification, part number, voltage details etc, on them. I appreciate I have bought on price and deserve what I got as a result, but Amazon could surely source a better quality kit for either the same money or a just a little bit more?

    commandé le vendredi, reçu le lendemain samedi ; super !j’ai soudé et installé le tout en 1 heure, et ça fonctionne conformément à la notice du circuit intégré.Il est amusant de constater que la logique va de droite à gauche : coarse à droite , fine au milieu ; attention à ne pas confondre les deux potentiomètres qui n’ont pas la même valeur.le bouton d’amplitude fonctionne aussi “à l’envers” : ça augmente dans le sens inverse des aiguilles d’une montre.Tout ça n’est pas bien gênant et permet d’avoir un petit générateur de fonction pour tester des circuits, pour pas cher.J’en suis très content.

    Took me longer to remove the protective foil on the clear plastic than assemling the module.Clearly maked components and pcb. Note the electrolytic capacitors has to be close to the pcbelse they’ll press on the plastic top piece.4 small rubber feet should have been in the kit!

    Shipped with a visibly blown capacitor (see pic), IC wasn’t in a sponge or anything so the pins were crushed flat.Seems to be a lack of quality control. I’d avoid this one unless you’re feeling lucky.

    Didn’t realize it was a kit until I had it in my hands. LOL!!! Ok then, break out the soldering iron! After about an hour of careful assembly, I had a very nice, compact, inexpensive signal generator. My particular use is to run the odometer of a motorcycle dirt bike instrument cluster up to the correct mileage. It took 22 hours using the frequency generator set to triangle wave function, and setting the pulse frequency so my gauge read out 199 MPH. I fed the signal input into the wheel speed sensor while powering the cluster with a bench top power supply. From 0 to 2156 miles, perfect.I have no use for the function generator anymore, but for a few dollars and a little effort to build it was worth it.
