Cloned then swapped Steam Deck SSD
Got this in the spring sale. Upgraded my 256 steam deck to 1 tb with no issues whatsoever. To save faffing about I used Balena Etcher (free) to clone the existing SSD to the Crucial mounted in a uGreen extenal SSD case. It was then a case of a straight SSD physical swap with no need to use recovery image etc. Steam Deck booted with all my installed games but now with 1tb of storage.Performance is great and the extra space is useful.

Excellent little SSD and was purchase to use in a tiny fanxiang M.2NVMe 230 hard drive enclosure I recently purchased. Itâs not as quick as some of my bigger SSDâs I have but also quicker the some I have owned. So far very happy with my purchase.

Perfect for steamdeck oled
Perfect. Installed in my steamdeck oled. Installation was easy, best to follow a guide. Just 12 odd screws, a couple of ribbon cables to unplug, then youre there. Performance seems better or the same, but obviously with more storage so now i can install way more on my deck.

I did a DiY install of a much more bigger capacity of SSD for my Steam Deck OLED. Based from its description, this is one of the fastest and affordable SSD cards that I can find here in Amazon. This fits and works perfectly with my device.Giving it 4 stars for now as the only drawback that I can see/find is that I’m hoping that it’ll last a long time of use even though the endurance of this SSD is just only 440 TBW, as compared to other SSD brands which has higher number with regards to this matter. ð

works great, a lot better than the original steam deck drive and the perfect storage amount to pair with a sd card that holds emulatwd games with this being the main driver, leave round a 100gb free for updates and storage moving in desctop mode plus various other tasks you need space for….. Never fill a drive to the full capacity bc it will shorten the life in the portable use case

Ho acquistato questo SSD come espansione dello storage del mio Surface Pro 8. L’installazione è stata facile e veloce, adatta anche a chi non è molto pratico a “smanettare” con componenti hardware.Per la clonazione del vecchio SSD mi è stato necessario acquistare un adattatore. Tuttavia, insieme al prodotto si acquista una licenza d’uso di Acronis True Image for Crucial, che rende il processo di clonazione semplicissimo e, nel mio caso, privo di intoppi.La velocità di lettura e scrittura sono impressionanti, ottime per un disco di avvio contenente il sistema operativo. Avendo acquistato la versione da 1TB posso non preoccuparmi più dello spazio disponibile. Consigliatissimo.

Using this in a DockCase Mini with a 10Gbps connection speed, I was able to write around 40GB of various files to the drive in under a minute, at an average of around 750MB/s, as a “real world conditions” test of various files ranging from large 4GB+ Linux distro ISOs to game folders filled with hundreds of tiny files of a few KB each.Naturally, it would be even faster in a direct NVMe PCIe slot – but nobody is buying a 2230 drive to fit directly to a motherboard. Using it in an external enclosure is a realistic test of how it’s likely to be used, and it’s passed with flying colours in my book.
